It's Christmas Time Again...

I must say that I have slacked tremendously this month with the BCF but I will get better with the New Year! I planned to put out a lot of blogs this week, but unfortunately Trey caught a stomach bug on Monday then passed it to me yesterday. So I haven't really had much time or energy to do anything.

With Christmas right around the corner, I'm sad to say that I'm still not in the Christmas spirit yet. I'm sure all of that will change after today when I do my last minute Christmas shopping. Every single year I say I'm going to get my shopping out the way early, but I never do. Then I'm the one who will have an attitude while I'm out shopping because there's too many people in my way lol. Go figure!

Family Over Everything, That's My Attitude

Good morning bosses and boss chics! I apologize for not getting to the Positve Monday post yesterday but I had a very hectic weekend which I'm about to fill you in on now. As some know, I was supposed to be leaving this past Friday to go to Norfolk for Norfolk State's homecoming. I had taken off work and was going to hit the road around 10 am. Originally my best friend Tia and I were supposed to go together but she wasn't able to get off work for the days she needed.I had changed my plans to stay at my grandma's in Chesapeake for the weekend and just drive to wherever I'm going from her house, but my plans were immediately altered after my mom called me Thursday night.

We Are Family

I know, I know... I've definitely been slacking this week on the Boss Chic Files smh, but I was busy enjoying all the 4th of July festivities and time with family. To make up for it I thought I would recap my weekend and holiday because it was just that epic! :-P

First of all the family reunion for my paternal grandfather's family was this weekend. Now this is the one side of my family where I really don't know anyone except those that still live in our hometown. Every year they had family reunions in the past, I was always gone to the beach with my mom's family for our annual beach house trip. Anyway, I wasn't initially thrilled about giving my 4th of July weekend away to distant family that I didn't know because I thought everyone would be much older than myself. I got fooled! I met different cousins that I didn't even know I had and they were mostly right around my age. Also one of my cousins from Ohio came home, whom I hadn't seen in at least 12 years (Crazy right??) If you know me, you know I get so excited about meeting different family members because I think it's so cool to see how differently we all grew up. Needless to say, I knew the weekend was going to be a good one after all.
