Sometimes None Is Better Than Some

How mad does it make you when people offer up "advice" to you without you asking for any help?? And how often do you find that people's so called "advice" turns out being criticism? Better yet, they start giving you advice but don't really know the details of your situation so everything they're saying is irrelevant. To me the worst thing is when people say they're only trying to help, but while they're "helping" they're actually telling you what THEY would do. (Makes me wanna say well you AINT me lol).

Death Becomes Her

First of all let me apologize for not doing a review last week, but I feel like I need to either write down what happened or watch the show twice before I do my blog. Well I didn't really have time to do either last week and I didn't want to miss any details! Anywho in the next to last episode of The Game, Melanie seems to be trying to get pregnant. Melanie went with Tasha to the bar to help her cope with Dante' breaking up with her. When Melanie was texting Derwin the whole night, Tasha told her to go home and be with her man. Mel happily left so she could go home and hopefully work on making a baby.

Alone at the bar, Tasha was approached by a man she had never met before. Shortly after, they were running down the street in their underwear and jumping into his convertible LLS! At first I was confused, but then he revealed to Tasha that he had a terminal case of cancer. He told her that before he got sick, he was angry with the world. He felt that him having cancer was a blessing because it opened his eyes up to the world. He told Tasha that he wanted to spend his last moments in life with her SN: Tasha and her cigars #icant lol

Spring Trend: Oxfords

It is no secret that I LOVE Rihanna's style game, nor is it a secret that I'm a huge lover of oxfords! I currently have two pair and I'm already looking for more colors to invest in lol. Not everyone will wear this trend, but it is definitely one of my favorites. Oxfords can really be worn throughout all seasons, but I prefer to wear them during the spring and summer months so they can be paired with bright colors, skirts, etc. If you decide to try these out, I would go with light colors like neutrals or grays or even go bold with a bright pair to match the Spring vibe.

Check below for some of the different types of oxfords that I found online and thought were cute! And remember to always set your own style; the way you dress says a lot about your character! #BossinIsAHobby

Positive Mondays

Here is another chance to inspire or be inspired!! Positive Mondays is about empowering and uplifting each other on what can be the most frustrating, hectic day of the week! One positive thing that has happened to me recently is selling my car. Not only did I sell my 1991 Honda Accord, but I received a blessing from my grandma who sold me her 2002 Honda Accord for way less than it was worth! So not only did I receive a new car, but one without payments as well. :)

Please feel free to share experiences on how you encountered a positive experience today. It could be something you did or said to someone or vice versa; a quote, song, or thought that incorporates positivity! And remember to put on your shades to block out all negativity today! #positivemondays

QOTD: "The difference between can and cannot is only three letters. Will you allow three letters to control your life?"- Unknown

SN: Next week I'm giving my readers a chance to send me a pic of yourselves with your shades on, blocking out all the negativity that comes with the world. BUT you have to send a positive quote or a story about something good you've encountered in order for me to post the pic. Depending on how many pics are sent, this may be a weekly thing! Send them to dhairston89@gmail.com and have fun with it!

Throwback Thursday: Missy Elliott

Last week I seemed to have forgotten all about Throwback Thursdays, but this week I'm making up for it with a banger... Missy Elliott has always been one of my favorite artists ever since she came out with Timbaland and Magoo back in the 90's. Missy and her crew including the likes of Ginuwine, Aaliyah, Nicole Wray, etc used to lay down the hottest songs ever! I can't think of any songs that she's touched that I haven't liked. She's worked with Faith Evans, Tweet, Keyshia Cole, Lil Kim, Ciara, Trina, Ludacris and plenty more and basically every song has been a hit.

Not only is her music hot, but it's always so ahead of the game. If you go back and listen to her old songs, it's pretty much timeless music. You could still listen to it now like it's brand new, and if no one knew the song they wouldn't know any better. I also love how Missy was never afraid to be herself. When she first started in the game, she came out wearing crazy clothes and her videos were always off the wall. I respected her for doing something different, rather than the usual overtly sexual things other female mc's were doing. Now of course I can't list all her songs and videos but I did list some of my favorites. Check them out below and feel free to leave any comments if these songs take you back to certain memories you'd like to share!

SN: Missy is the only female rapper to ever have six certified platinum albums including her double platinum album Under Construction in 2002... Now that's #bawse

R.I.P. Nate Dogg

I'm sure you all have heard that Nate Dogg (Nathaniel Hale) passed away yesterday at the mere age of 41 SN: Long lives are becoming more and more less common #sadbuttrue... Anyway, Nate Dogg is best known as being a West Coast legend, with a low bass filled voice that's easily recognizable. He has layed hooks to tracks for the likes of 50 Cent, Eminem, Tupac, Snoop Dogg, Dr Dre, Fabolous and more. Nate Dogg had previously suffered a stroke back in 2007 and as well as in 2008, but the cause of his death is yet known.

I loved his voice and how smooth he was! He used to stay rocking his four piece suits and hats with his shades and a bandana on. He was definitely an OG and will be missed in the music industry! If you had Nate on your track, it was guaranteed to be certified G music. Check below for some of the songs he was featured in from the past, my favorites being "Regulators" with Warren G and "21 Questions" with 50. #RIPNateDogg

What Is The World Coming To?

Good morning bosses && boss chics! It's been a week since I've blogged for you guys; last week was my spring break from school and I must say I took advantage by not doing ANY work lol #dontjudgeme. However I'm back on the grind now, and I apologize for the lack of posts for the past week!

Now I'm sure my local hometown readers already know this, but for those of you who visit this blog from different areas let me fill you in. Here's a run down of where I'm from. I grew up and live in Martinsville Va, an extremely small city with not much to offer. It used to be well known for its manufactoring companies, but since majority of those have shut down it's so difficult to find a job here now. In a nut shell, it's no telling what might go down here these days because there's no work which is causing an increase in the crime rate.

With that being said, it was recently reported on our local news station that the KKK would be hosting a rally in one of the area's parks on April 2nd. Supposedly they are going to be lighting a cross as well. First of all I swear I didn't know the KKK even still really existed or did these types of "marches". Just a few days ago, I saw on Facebook where someone has started another rally that will be marching against the KKK. I'm sorry, but I know I can't be the only one blown by this O_O... Here it is 2011 and violence is still happening due to race and backgrounds?? When there is so much other bs going on around us like lack of healthcare, lack of employment, rise in gas prices, etc. #wheretheydothatat... Booth (one of the people I get to help me with the blog) aka @TWlTTERWHALE who is also from my hometown wrote a "Letter To Martinsville" that I thought was worthy of a post. This comes right on time with everything going on in this city. Check it out below!

SN: If this were YOUR city would you stand against the ignorance and march against the KKK?? Let us know!
