My favorite artist, Mrs. Carter, was spotted wearing some super fly Louboutins at the 2011 NBA All Star, but of course her shoe game is always proper! I fell in love with these heels on site, however I'm far from capable of paying for those! lol... Below I've listed a couple of pair with a similar concept but at a cheaper price. Throwback Thursday: KP & Envyi

KP & Envyi

KP and Envyi made up the hot 90's R&B and Hip Hop duo consisting of Khia Philips (KP) and Susan Hedgepath (Envyi). This dynamic duo produced the hit single "Shorty Swing My Way" in 1998, which peaked at #6 on the Billboards Hot 100 and at #14 on The UK Singles Chart. This used to be my jam! And I'm sure any other girl from this era loved it too... It's just one of those songs that would jump in the club, and I think the remix is even better!

Wonder what happened to them?? From what I hear, Envyi is now going by the name Sioux Lane and released an album in 2009 titled "Tell Me Why" (never heard any buzz about it)... But anyway if you look below you'll see a younger Polow Da Don present in the original video. I also included the youtube video for the remix. Hope you enjoy! #throwbackthursdays

You Say Goodbye, I Say Hello

As you all know I love me some Malik El Debarge Wright, so it should be no surprise that I loved this episode! It seems like he finally got his life together (hopefully) and Kelly "Devereux" (a fool lls) finally got her much needed reality check. This episode started off with Jason serving Kelly with papers banning her from mentioning his name on her show. Obviously without being able to use Jason as the subject, her show really has nothing to offer. As a result Kelly is left with the stuck on stupid face!

The next scene shows Malik in his group meeting in rehab. He asks the doctor how many pills between 4 and 20 can he continue to take without being considered an addict. When the doctor tells Malik that his condition has changed from a physical pain to an emotional one, Malik gets angry and storms out yet again. Later, Jenna (the super model) came to keep Malik company and tries to help him figure out his problem. She offers him jelly beans, saying it's her new addiction to substitute the crack. Malik tells her that everyone around him abandoned him and moved on with their lives; therefore, he feels like he was being used all along.

Black Friday

Apparently I had my days of the week mixed up because I clearly missed #throwbackthursdays yesterday lol SORRY! I'm making up for it today though! I'm not sure if you all are aware, but Lil Kim has come out with a mixtape titled "Black Friday" which is basically a bunch of songs dedicated to bashing Nicki Minaj. Of course the title was derived from Nicki's album title "Pink Friday" and Kim even has a track called "Pissing On Em" dedicated to Nicki smh. On top of that Lil Kim has the nerve to be selling this mixtape on PayPal for $9.99 a pop... I never heard of mixtapes being sold but ok! lol

Anyway, back in the day Lil Kim was definitely the Queen B of hip hop! If she would just let this beef with Nicki go and come back to making her real music, maybe she could get ahead again! I wanted to just remind everyone of exactly why Lil Kim was the reigning rap supreme, so check below for some of her hottest songs from the past! I also included her track "Pissing On Em"... Do you think Lil Kim could make a come back? Let us know!

Didn't You Know Who I Was?



Last night's episode of The Game titled "Didn't You Know Who I Was" was pretty good, although it wasn't my favorite. It doesn't compare to last week's episode but it had my attention nonetheless. I really wish they could make this into an hour show next season; it's way too much drama to be packed into a thirty minute sitcom!  But here's my synopsis and opinion on the show!

Last night's episode started with Malik in a group meeting in the rehab center where he was staying. The other members of the group were talking with the therapist about their drug addictions, while Malik was being sarcastic and making jokes throughout the whole meeting. There was also a beautiful international model named Jenna there who was having issues with kicking her drug habit. Malik, being the asshole that he is, automatically assumed that this girl would want to get with him just because he's the Sabers quarterback. Malik tries to get with Jenna who made it clear that she is there to receive help for her addiction only, something of which he has no interest. Malik then tells her that he does not have a problem and he's there basically pulling a Tiger Woods number for good PR. Ole girl played the hell outta Malik, shutting down all his advances when he offered to have her featured in King magazine smh. When she left their conversation, the therapist at the rehab center confronted Malik about his drug test coming back positive for opiates. Malik, still in denial, left the rehab center running from his problems as usual.

A Day To Remember

First of all I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day! Mine consisted of work all day followed by watching cartoons with my son, but I enjoyed it nonetheless :) As promised I gave people the opportunity to send me their Valentine's Day stories, so I could post them for my readers. I received four and I must say these ladies are pretty lucky! Check out the stories below...

Story #1:

Since my husband and I were just dating, he has always surrounded me with the nicest, most lavishing gifts. I own diamonds on top of diamonds, pearls, enough to own a jewelry store. As the years have gone on, I've advised him that he has done so much, that now, honestly the simplest things make me smile. With that being said, I still purchased him really nice gifts. Well this morning, I gave him his gifts. He stood there with a confused look, and started apologizing, he stated he forgot Valentine's Day. I was cool, because he does so much. I hear him rambling in the kitchen later, and think nothing of it. He then comes into the living room with the miniature pringles can filled with leaves with "Happy Valentine's Day" written on it. I just laugh Cause He is a clown. I say "thank you" anyway. As I went to set the can down the leaves shifted and i saw something glimmer. I open the can, there is a gorgeous black diamond heart ring. Not too big, yet not just simple either. It carries its weight easily. I cry, because even when I say I want simple, he still goes that extra mile. He has once told me, "you have because you DONT ask... you're no golddigger, a queen that should be treated as such". For that reason alone, I know he is my soulmate. I will ALWAYS love him. ♥

Story 2:

I leave for my lunch break at work everyday around 12. On Valentine’s day I hadn’t talked much to my boo because I thought he was busy doing things for his parents. I called him on my lunch break like I do every other day. He tells me he’s in Eden (about 25 mins away) and about to head home because he was tired. He works 3rd shift so this was nothing new to me. I’m not going to lie, I was a little disappointed because I at least wanted to see him on Valentine’s day. But it wasn’t worth getting mad over. We did spend the entire weekend together. Anyways, I head back to work when my lunch was about over and again, I’m still on the phone with “boo” thinking he was in NC. I pull up to my job and head inside back to my desk as usual. Maybe 2 minutes later, my boss peeks her head around the corner to my office and says “you have a visitor.” With this WTF look on my face I say “who?” And before I could get upset boo comes around the corner with a vase of peach roses (my favorite flower), literally a bunch of balloons, and a card. Completely dumb founded, tears immediately begin to swell up in my eyes. He says “I could have had these delivered. But I couldn’t go all day and not see you. Besides the look you have right is worth it all. Happy Valentine’s day baby.” To some, this may seem like a typical Valentine’s Day. But really, how many people had their flowers hand delivered? This man is special. He’s a good one. And heaven knows I thank God for him EVERYDAY!! ♥

Story #3:
Valentine's Day was great for me this year. Although we aren't physically together today, he left an impression that will always remain. I received a 1/2 karat diamond necklace from Kay Jewelers last week *every kiss begins with Kay* LOL! Friday evening, I was greeted with 2 dozen roses before dinner, Saturday we went to the spa for pedicures, and yesterday we went to lunch before taking our "just because I love you" pictures. Whether it's a holiday or not, I am constantly reminded of how much he loves me. My man is heaven-sent! HAPPY VALENTINES DAY EVERYONE ♥

Story #4:

My boo waited until I got home from doing everything I had to do and there were a half dozen of roses and a balloon and the card said something else was coming... Then there was a knock on the door. I opened the door and there was an edible arrangement being delivered with a card attached. The card read "Happy Vday, love you! Now tis time to get your massage... FULL BODY". After the massage (which was ON POINT) he took me to the mall to get an outfit. Later we went out for dinner. This is far from our first Valentine's Day together, but each year he does something to make sure it's worth my while. I love him for that ♥

Validate Yourself



You ever been to church and felt like the preacher was talking to you directly and just felt like everything he said was what you needed to hear? That's how I was on Sunday. Don't get it twisted, I'm far from a saint, but I do try to go to church when I can. Naturally for Valentine's Day every church message was revolved around love. I'm used to hearing the "love is/love is not" sermon every year; however, I was happily surprised this year!

The message was about loving yourself and God before attempting to love anyone else. He went on to say how you should let yourself know how much you appreciate you instead of waiting for someone else to validate how special you are. Most people don't know this but for the longest time, I was extremely insecure. I'm almost positive I know where this deep rooted issue started, but I won't go into details. Anyway, all my life people have told me how attractive I was, smart, etc but it just wasn't enough. I needed those compliments to make me feel better about myself. I had this CONSTANT yearning to be in a relationship, just to feel loved and appreciated by someone... anyone.

The Perfect Valentine

In my opinion there are four general types of people during Valentine's Day: The Single Lady/Man, The New Couple, The Long Term Lovers, and The Engaging Couple. These are basically self explanatory. The single lady/man may just be getting out of a relationship, possibly hates or avoids this holiday, or may just not be looking for anyone. The New Couple in my opinion is anywhere from 0-6 months (different time frames for different people). They are still fresh, in the "getting to know each other" stage, and have a lot to learn in the process. The Long Term Lovers are of course the couples that have been together for a long period of time. This isn't their first V-Day together. Last but not least there is the couple in the "Engaging" stage (yes I made this up lol). This refers to the guys getting ready to propose to their girls, and the girls who will be receiving a proposal.

I've come up with different ideas and activities that can help you take your Valentine's Day to the next level regardless of which category pertains to you. You don't want to keep doing the same thing year after year, so if you don't have any plans you should try something from this list that you've never done before! If you're booed up this year, try something you AND your partner have never tried. You'll have fun learning something new together!

The Game.., Men In Crisis

Last night's episode of The Game just may be my favorite one yet this season. I live for the moments with Kelly, Tasha Mack, and Girl Melanie drinking wine and talking sh*t! LOL they are forever tryna play Melanie, and I think it's hilarious because she's so corny. This episode started by Melanie filling the girls in on Derwin and his baby mama drama. She believes that Derwin has been going to court almost every day fighting with Janay about when he can see DJ. Little does she know, Derwin is actually spending his extra time at Janay's home.

The whole time Melanie was being extra supportive for Derwin in his situation with Janay and DJ, he has her thinking that Janay has been taking him back and forth to court for child support and visitation. However he has really been at Janay's every day, swimming in their pool, and cooking on the grill for her and DJ. On top of that he even makes a stop to TT's wing truck to pick up food for Janay. When Javon and TT told him that he was doing more for Janay than necessary, he then told them he was doing the right thing as long as he kept both women happy and he could continue to see his son.

Who Would You Have Chosen?

I'm sure you all remember back in 2004 when Teairra Mari first came out with the hit single "Make Her Feel Good". I used to love this song and had high hopes for her, being that she was donned the Princess of the Roc. However, Teairra Mari's music career didn't last very long with Rocafella Records. Why? Some say it was because of miss Robyn Fenty aka Rihanna.

As we all know, Rihanna was also signed with Jay-Z's label. To be honest when Rihanna first came out with "Pon De Reply" I was thinking there was no way on earth this girl is gonna blow up. She was sort of plain like a girl next door, while Teairra Mari was a little more fierce. I'm not sure of the details, but eventually Teairra got dropped from the label and Rihanna went on to become one of the biggest names in the industry. Rihanna is still on top doing her thing, and Teairra Mari is making a come back. RiRi just released her newest video for the single "S & M", and Teairra Mari has a new video out for her single "Body". Below I've included both girls' first video as well as their most recent.

Throwback Thursday: Mariah Carey

I'm not sure if you've been hiding under rocks, but it came out a few weeks ago that Nick and Mariah are expecting twins! Nick Cannon recently revealed the sex of the babies... a boy AND a girl! How cool is that?! I for one thought their whole relationship was a publicity stunt for the LONGEST! Now I must say that they obviously have a really good relationship, and wish them nothing but the best!

I've been a big Mariah fan since I was a little girl, she gets the utmost respect from me! I love how she's been in this business for so long and she just keeps making hit after hit. I started watching some of her old videos on youtube and had this bright idea to start #ThrowbackThursdays... This week is dedicated to none other than MC herself. It Was All Good Just A Week Ago

 

We have finally come to the day all Game fans live for... Tuesday :) This week's episode had me weak! All the characters were really acting like themselves again and I'm thankful for that! Last week's episode ended in Malik Wright getting arrested for drunk driving, assaulting a police officer, and resisting arrest (whew doing the most)... Tonight's episode began with Malik meeting with the owner of the Sabers about his situation. He was bailed out of jail with a $100,000 bond. As usual, Malik was extremely arrogant and felt that he was gonna get out of trouble because he's the quarterback.

The Sabers' owner told Malik to not hold any press conferences so he wouldn't make himself look any worse. Malik then agreed that he wouldn't say anything to the media about what took place on the night of his arrest. Later Tasha Mack went to visit Malik and basically told him like it was. He then got mad at her and tried to say she cared more about Derwin than himself. She then reminded him that he was her main concern and she always had his back. Now when Tasha Mack came out the house and Derwin was coming in she had me killing myself laughing lol! Manager hat: "If you know like I know go home. You don't need to be around a negative influence like Malik right now." Mama hat: I love that boy in there and he could really use a friend like you." Manager hat: "Go home boy, go home NOW and tell your son you love him." LLS why is she a fool!

Gossip vs. Girl Talk



"The hardest part of this business is minding your own." *Drake voice* I'm not one to preach or lecture, but I could go innn on this topic for DAYS. We ALL are guilty of interfering in other people's lives, worrying about others, and even talking about others. Yes I admit to being guilty of this as well, but it's not something to be proud of. A lot of times though, we may get involved in others' business simply out of caring for that person; then again majority of the time we're just being plain nosey aka gossiping. However I do believe there is a difference between gossiping and "girl talk".
