Last Of A Dying Breed

Shown above is the Vibe Magazine cover from February 1998 when hip hop was actually worth listening to. This cover was dedicated to hip hop's greatest rappers at the time including Methon Man, LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes, Master P, Lil Kim, Missy Elliott, Lauryn Hill, and Foxy Brown. In my opinion the 90's consisted of THE BEST R&B and hip hop artists and music hands down!!

I remember having blank tapes and recording songs that used to come on the radio so I would have them on hand whenever I needed. Music just isn't the same to me anymore. Back then when all these artists were out they were so talented and well rounded that I never thought they would be off the scene. I look back and wonder where all the real talent went. Of course there are still some past greats doing their thing like Jay-Z and of course Diddy (idk what his talent is but he makes hot music lol), but what about all these other past artists who just disappeared?

The Game: The Wing King Episode 3

First of all, I live for Tuesdays at 10 PM!! Am I the only person who really enjoyed this episode of The Game? I felt like it involved way more humor than the past two... I LOL'd on more than one occasion! Let me start off by saying I am SO HAPPY Jazz is back!! Omg that's my girl! Her and Javon are hilarious! I also really like Ericka from the Sunbeams and her million and ten accessories lol. The little characters help make the show to me!

Animal Print for Spring 2011

Miley Cyrus, Christina Aguilera, Vanessa Hudgins, Rihanna

No matter how cold it is outside, the fact remains the same that spring will be here before we know it. It's about that time for us to get rid of the layers and bring out the spring clothes! From what I've collected thus far, this season will be full of bold colors, white, bold patterns, and none other than animal print!

Animal print is one of the trends that seems to never go away, and I LOVE it! This fashion statement can be worn in many ways, but try not to over do it. I would suggest investing in some nice animal print shoes or a purse, that way you can wear just about anything with the piece. You could also wear an animal print top, but if you choose to do this I wouldn't wear it with the animal print accessories. To be extra different, try finding a pair of animal print tights. In this case, less is more. I think this trend is best worn with nude and and white hues, or browns and blacks.

I don't think this style will be going anywhere for a long time, so go for it and see what you can come up with! Below I've listed some of my favorite animal print pieces from some of my favorite stores including Bebe, Topshop, Baker's, GUESS, and Forever21. Check them out!

Be A Boss Dad... Dead Beats Are A No No!

The Smiths (Will Smith is such an ideal father!)

On the reruns of Basketball Wives (girlfriends, ex fiancés, mistresses, ex wives... whatever) a very important issue came up and it disturbed me. Kenny Anderson, a former basketball player, had been married to Tami Roman for 11 years and had two beautiful daughters with her. When they divorced, his girls were 4 and 6 and he had no contact, relationship, or financial relationship with them.  The show now displays him working towards building a relationship with them at ages 14 and 16.

However the disturbing part is the fact that he made Tami sign a pre-nup and once divorced, she was left with ONLY $70,000! (OK..IF U THINK THIS IS A LOT OF MONEY TO RAISE A FAMILY UP NORTH, KEEP IN MIND THAT HE PLAYED IN THE NBA AND CONTINUE READING) Their mom admitted to resorting to government assistance, including food stamps, in order to raise her daughters on her own. (Shout out to Boss Chic moms doing it for their selves) Before I blow up, let me finish... Not only that but the issue was that he, the NBA ball player dad, had no emotional relationship with his daughters over the years which caused ultimate pain and resentment between them. His excuse was that their mom wouldn't let him see them. Couldn’t he have called? Yes but he said, "We could’ve done that all day. But if I couldn't see yall, then… "  -basically he was saying what would be the point??

The Game: Episode 2 Review

Good morning boss chics and bosses ;) I apologize for being a few days behind on my review of this week's episode of The Game, classes have started this week and work has been hectic. However, I will try to maintain this site as best as possible. Anywho, as you all know the second episode our favorite show aired on Tuesday night. According to Necole Bitchie it brought in a whopping 5.9 million viewers this week! This review is a little long, but you can't slack when it comes to this show and I promise it's worth the read =)

This episode eased my heart a little more than the first. Now I enjoyed the first episode but as I previously stated, I hated Kelly's new persona and I hated how Malik was acting. I I think it's safe to say the old Kelly is back! How epic was it to see her and Tasha clowning Girl Melanie about her problems while she gets mad at them for laughing! Seriously their girl talk helps make the show so I'm happy that Tasha and Kelly made up. However, I really think the part about them having to take off their tops to get privacy from her show was a bit extra LOL #justsayin.
