[Nail Files] Ka'oir Cosmetics Nail Lacquer

I'm not sure if you all remember but last month I did a post on Ka'oir Lipstick by Keyshia Dior, well now the video vixen has her own nail lacquer under the same brand. She just launched her nail polish right before Christmas, and currently has a special running where you can get 3 for $25.99. If you don't want the bundle, then each bottle is $9.99 a piece. All of the colors stand out to me, especially the brighter colors as pictured above.

I definitely respect Keyshia's hustle being that she started this brand herself and continues to expand it as her clientele grows. She went from making lipstick and lip glosses to adding a line of nail lacquer and tank tops. From what I read in her tweets, she will also plan on launching a line of eyelashes with her brand as well. Now if that's not a boss then I don't know what is!

Check out the different colors in her nail polish line below and let us know what you think! Will you be buying? Make sure you check out her website http://www.kaoir.com/ if you're interested in purchasing anything.

SN: Keyshia Dior inspires me to make bigger moves... now watch me work! *hits the flex* lol

[Nail Files] Essie's Winter Collection

I'm going to try to start getting more into beauty posts dealing with makeup, hair and nails rather than just fashion to expand it a little more. Of course we all take pride in our sense of fashion, but what is a good outfit if the look isn't complete with dope nails? I'm not one to wear makeup every day, and I do my own hair for the most part, but I take pride in my nails just as much as I do with my clothes.

Call me simple, but for the past few years while everyone has been going nail crazy with designs and whatnot, I have ALWAYS been one to just get a regular color on my nails. I've never been a design girl. Just give me a really hot color and that's all I need! I do however like the shatter polishes as well as regular polish but that's about as crazy as I get.

One of the nail lacquer brands that are pretty hot on the celebrity market, is Essie's. This brand has been worn by the likes of Ciara, Eve, Eva Mendez, Kim Kardashian, etc. I've never used this polish before, but it seems to be pretty smooth and they have really nice colors. Each bottle runs you at $8, which isn't bad at all being that you pay close to that amount for regular brands in the drug store.

Check out the Essie's winter collection below and let us know what you think!

Miss Piggy Is A Boss

I'm not sure how many of you keep up with new movies that are coming out, but there seems to be a new muppet movie coming out on Thanksgiving titled "The Muppets". Well since promo for the new movie has launched, the beloved Miss Piggy has begun getting ready to launch a few things of her own. It seems as if she is turning into a brand of her own, with the likes of a small line for MAC that just dropped on November 14th. The online only line includes Miss Piggy Pink Eyeshadow, the Penultimate Eyeliner in Rapid Black, and a pair of 36 Lash eyelashes. Both the eye shadow and set of eye lashes run at $15 a piece, and the eyeliner runs at $17.50 per pencil.

Not only is Miss Piggy making bank through MAC, but she's also turned The Muppets into one of the many faces for OPI nail lacquer. They now have their own line of OPI polish which includes 12 different colors. You can take a look at both the MAC Collection and the OPI collection below. What do you think about these products??

SN: I don't care what anyone says, Miss Piggy has ALWAYS been a boss to me... well except when it comes to catching Kermit :P

[Fashion Files] Shellac Nails

I'm not really sure how new these are, but shellac nails are the most recent nail trend that I've been turned on to. These are by far the best I've tried! I don't really like to get acrylic or gel over my real nails because I never keep them on for more than a few weeks/months. Then I end up tearing up my nails in the process of removing the gel. So when my best friend told me about the shellac nails she tried, I had to try them out for myself.

Shellac nails are basically a hard coated fingernail polish that dries by laser. I think they use a clear base coat, two polish coats, and a clear top coat and they put your nails under a laser for a minute or so after each coat. The outcome of the product is a hard, shiny finish to your nails that does not break. These last for about 14 days before you need to re-up and get back to the nail salon. You really can't beat that! If I remember correctly, they run at $18 which is pretty good for the amount of time they last. One of my friends showed me her nails today, and she had a pink and white zebra print with the shellac polish that was really cute. So you can definitely play these up into different designs as well.

Check out pics below of my nails, my best friends nails, and also my other friend's nails with the pink/white zebra print! There's also a picture below that gives you a glimpse of the difference between regular polish and the shellac polish.  Will you be trying these out?

My Natural Transition Pt 2

Good news! I'm still going relaxer free believe it or not lol, hell I don't even believe it myself. I told ya'll about my experience of going natural last year O_o #epicfail lol. This time around I'm really serious about it, and I hope and pray I don't give in!

Someone asked me a few days ago what the point was in going natural, and I honestly couldn't give them a straight up answer. I sat and thought about the REAL reasons behind me going natural, and I must say it sounds just like something I would say lol. I guess you could say I'm choosing to go natural to "go against the grain". So many people have it in their head that women are supposed to have straight, long and flowing hair and everyone knows that silk wraps are the thing now.

Well I've literally been getting silk wraps since I first started high school, and I'm honestly just tired. I'm tired of fighting with my hair and putting chemicals in it to get it to stay straight, so why do it? I guess you could say I want to be different in every way, and this is a start. Plus I have the type of hair that works with going natural because it's thick and wavy. It's going to be thick regardless of if I get relaxers or not, so why not try something different?

Anyway, I apologize for the rant lol but I wanted to post a few more pics of how I've been working with my hair. Remember I got a rod set a little over a week ago? Well I haven't taken it out yet, I've just been playing that up with different looks. You can check out the pics below, and let me know what you think! Is anyone ready to join me yet?? :)

Transitioning to Natural

I think I've told you guys before that I've been calling myself going natural through the transition process. Well I wanted to do a blog to show everyone some of the different ways that I've been wearing my hair, in case there's anyone else out there on this transitional journey like myself. I haven't had a relaxer since the beginning of April so I'm six months into the process.

I started off doing my hair on my own; and since I began my transition when it started getting hot, I didn't wear my hair straight much at all. I got my hair flat ironed once during the summer and it was so long and pretty! But it didn't stand a chance in the heat AT ALL. I had tried going natural last year, but broke down after going to the beach and realizing I couldn't get the comb through my hair LOL! However this time I started watching youtube videos and searching online for everything I would need to keep this going.

I did my own hair throughout the summer, but last week I just couldn't take it anymore! I found someone who doesn't mind the thickness of my hair and she doesn't charge much at all. And when I say I have a massive amount of hair... well that's an understatement lol.
I've learned if you're going natural, the best thing to do is embrace your NATURAL hair instead of trying to keep it straight. Your hair is two different textures when you're transitioning which causes breakage and split ends very easily. You need to find a good deep conditioner and maybe a leave in conditioner as well, to prevent future breakage and keep your locks strong. Instead of continuing to put heat to my hair, I've instead started trying transitional styles such as rods, curls, twist sets, etc. You can check out some of the styles I've tried below, and if you're thinking about going natural without the "big chop" you should check out videos on youtube to help get you started.

Maybe this will push some of you to join me :)

Do You Stay Prepped for the Paps?

Modern day technology allows us to keep up with our favorite celebrities like never before with the use of blogs and social networks. Since I'm always up on my celebrity gossip, this is something that I've grown to love. But on the other hand it has also become a growing pain. If you pay attention to blogs and pics of celebrities taken by the paparazzi, they are usually always on point. I mean from head to toe celebrity women step out without a hair out of place. This makes me wonder how many women actually take time to put on makeup and dress up every morning?

Back when I was reading Steve Harvey's book Straight Talk No Chaser, I remember him saying something about single women needing to dress up every day in case someone else is looking better. He said that women always needed to look their best when they leave the house if they're single, in case they run into a man who is a potential candidate for a partner. If you're looking good then there's no chance that he will be more physically attracted to someone else over you (we all know men think with their eyes first). Now I can see where he's coming from, but he's saying we need to dress up and look decent every where we go. I'm the type that will run to the store with my hair still wrapped and in sweats if I feel like it. And let me just tell you it seems like I get more compliments when I look a mess than when I look decent lol. I'm all for looking good for myself or looking good for a date and what not, and for the most part I do put together an outfit everyday. But when it comes down to making myself up to look nice just for potential men to notice men then I'm good.

I do know that lots of women wear makeup and dress up on a day to day basis though. I've never really been into makeup at all, but I've gotten better about wearing eye liner and mascara here and there to spice things up. Anything else in the makeup department is a no go for me unless it's a pretty lipstick or lip gloss. I've also realized that my definition of dressing up is different from others'. I consider it to mean wearing heels, you know a date material type outfit. I'll pull those out every now and then if I'm feeling myself that day, but for the most part I like to keep it simple (until the weekend lol).

Do you feel like single women need to look up to par on a daily basis so they won't miss out on the opportunity to "catch a man"? Do you dress up or wear makeup on a daily basis? There are a few people that I know who do, and I find myself looking forward to seeing what they're gonna wear every day... I love seeing how different people take pieces of fashion and make them their own. Leave us your thoughts below and check out a few paparazzi pics of some of the hottest celebrity women looking their best after the break!
