[New Music] Rihanna X Breezy = Birthday Cake Remix

HAPPY 24th BIRTHDAY ROBYN RIHANNA FENTY!! Ya'll know that's my main chick in my head lol. Obviously the beef between Chris Brown and Rihanna has ceased as he wished her a happy birthday around midnight last night. It has been rumored that Breezy would be on her remix to "Birthday Cake" from Talk  That Talk and I have the link for you below!

The song is a little fast paced, I'm assuming because it's leaked rather than the actual version. But you can check it out below and let me know what you think! SN: I wonder how Breezy's girlfriend Karrueche feels about all this... last night she retweeted someone and said "Didn't give a f*ck yesterday, don't give a f*ck today, and I probably won't give a f*ck tomorrow" #chile lol

Welp I know the drama behind this will be surfacing with the quickness! *grabs popcorn and sips tea* #staytuned lol

[Throwback Thursday] The Best To Ever Do It

Before we go any further in this post, let me just get ya'll to focus on how breathtakingly beautiful THE Miss Whitney Houston looks in these two pictures above! I didn't know until after she passed that she modeled before she became the powerhouse singer that she was, but the reasons are so obvious! She was gorgeous!

You'd have to be living under a complete sheet of rock to have not heard the news of Whitney's passing, as she was found dead just the night before the Grammy's at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. I'm not here to go into the details of her death or any of that, I just wanted to show my respect for what I consider to be the biggest voice ever. I've never heard any other female who could hit the notes that she did and so gracefully. She never missed a beat or a note in her hayday, and no other voice could even begin to compare to hers.

Instead of doing a post of one of her old videos since I know they've been showing them on tv constantly this week, I decided to do a post on one of her old performances instead. That way we could actually see for ourselves just how great of a singer she was, not only on recorded songs but also live. Below you can find her Superbowl performance from 1991 as she sings the National Anthem like no one else could ever do. I don't think I've ever heard this sung in any better way!

Check the video out below, and make sure you keep Miss Houston's family, friends, and fans in your prayers! The industry and world have really lost a great thing in Whitney... she paved the way for so many other singers! RIP Whitney Houston... the best to ever do it!

2012 Grammy's Recap

I must say the Grammy's disappointed this year! Well actually they disappoint me usually every year now, but I still try to give them the benefit of the doubt and watch it anyway. Majority of my timeline was watching the Grammy's along with me, and let me just tell ya'll twitter makes the Grammy's ten times better than what they are! Talk about hilarious lol! Upon request by a few of my followers, I decided to give a quick run down of my thoughts on last night's awards show.

Well obviously the first two pics are the sole reason that I even wanted to watch in the first place! I LOVE ADELE AND RIHANNA!!! I was in stan overdrive last night lol. Both ladies looked gorgeous and glamorous on the red carpet, and both performed as well. Rihanna turned it up a notch with her performance showing how much she has grown throughout her career. The vocals have improved and she was giving us a little taste of her island girl dance moves... Now Rihanna ain't no Bey on the dance floor but she did her thing! I love seeing her perform because she has fun with it and doesn't take herself seriously... #girlcrush!! Rihanna also took home two Grammy's (Best Rap Collab & Best Rap Song) for her collaboration with Kanye' on "All of the Lights". Get it Rih! SN: The song she did with Coldplay was fire!

Adele on the other hand gave me straight chills automatically when she started singing. She performed "Rolling In The Deep" which was her first performance since she had surgery on her vocal chords. She did not disappoint at all! She makes singing so well look so easy. Last night Adele swept the board taking home six Grammys, all of which were well deserved! She is so humble, you can't help but love her!

On another note, Chris Brown also performed last night which makes this the first time he and Rihanna have attended the same award show since their incident in 2009. Chris did his usual thing of singing during the beginning, then went into his dance mode for the rest of the performance. I love to see him perform because he always gives his all. His set was dope and reminded me of the old game QBert! He performed my favorite song by him "Beautiful People", I was fist pumping away last night lol! Chris also took home the award for Best R&B Album and I was so happy! It feels good seeing him make a comeback after the world thought he never would. And I'm glad they weren't petty with it by focusing the camera between Rih and Chris all night.

Last but not least, I sat up waiting and waiting for the tribute to Whitney Houston and ended up mad! Don't get me wrong, Jenny Hud (I never call her by her real name anymore lol) did her thing with "I Will Always Love You" per usual but that's all we get for Whitney? Whitney paved the way for EVERY female singer that came after her so the tribute definitely should have been longer. I had heard that Chaka Khan was going to perform "I'm Every Woman"... That would've brought me to life!

Other than what I said above the awards were pretty bland. I won't go into details about the other performances, just wanted to list my favorites... but I really can't leave ya'll without mentioning Nicki. Let's just say homegirl lost a fan last night and by the looks of twitter there's plenty more where that came from. Idk who authorized that bs, why they did or when but they should be smacked! Nicki my dear, you have officially sold your soul to the industry obviously you'll do anything for the fame! It wasn't so much the performance that bothered me but that song was pure garbage #thatisall

I forgot to mention it but Bruno Mars did really well during his performance as well, but did ya'll see the look on his face when he lost to Adele?? #salty lol... Check out a few of the performances from last night below and feel free to comment with your thoughts!

[New Video] Bad Girls- M.I.A.

Is MIA trying to take Rihanna's spot as the worldwide bad girl? I don't know and I don't care because I love it! MIA is one bad bish and not just by her looks and her style, but her music is beyond dope and so is her attitude! She just don't give a!  I know ya'll saw her flip the bird to the camera last night during Madonna's half time performance? MIA was the highlight of the show for me, when she stuck up her middle finger at the end of her verse it gave me life! I think I can relate to those artists who just don't care and have that "This is me hate it or love it I'm still me" type attitude.

I won't really go into talk about the Super Bowl half time show since I didn't really care for it, let's just skip the small talk and get right to MIA's new video for her new single "Bad Girls". Most of you remember her from her hit "Paper Planes", which received even more accreditation after some of the hottest rappers jumped on the remix. Well "Bad Girls" seems to be another guaranteed hit for the Sri Lankan beauty.

In her new video you can see her decked out in chains while posted up on top of a Beamer that's riding on two wheels. She is definitely giving us that bad girl vibe and I love it! I originally spotted the video at Necole Bitchie, and just wanted to repost it because I thought it was so hot! MIA is definitely a boss chic, and whether you think she is or not I don't think she quite cares lol... She did that!

Check out the video below as well as a few tweets from different celebrities giving MIA props on the new hit. SN: MIA is 36 years old!! Who knew?!? #bawse

[Throwback Thursday] Sunshine- Lil Flip

Who remembers Lil' Flip?? Man it's been like eight years since we heard anything from him! In 2004 he came out seemingly ready to make a steady career out of rap when he dropped two singles in one year. The first was "Game Over" which I absolutely loved. The Pacman beat was hot and the remix was even better. Then he dropped "Sunshine" with a chick named Lea which I also loved.

"Sunshine" was a pretty big hit for Lil' Flip landing at #2 on both the Billboard Hot R&B/Rap Songs as well as Billboard Hot 100. It went on to become his most successful single to date, which isn't saying much since we haven't heard much from him since then. This song came on my pandora last night and instantly brought back memories from my freshman year in high school! I love when certain songs take me back to certain times in my life.

Were you a fan of this single back in '04? What memories does it bring back to you? Leave a comment and let us know! Also check out the video below :)

[Throwback Thursday] Hit Em Up Style

With all the hype surrounding Beyonce' and Jay-Z's newborn daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, I thought what better way to go about #ThrowbackThursday than with a song by none other than Blu Cantrell! Who remembers her debut song from 2001 "Hit Em Up Style (Oops!)"?? I used to love this song!

I remember this coming out during my annual summer trip with my dad. We were either in Myrtle Beach or Florida, I can't remember, but they used to play it constantly. Since I was young I've always been a music head, and I pretty much can call whenever someone will be a one hit wonder or not. Not to be mean, but I figured she would be because she didn't give me any lasting impressions that made me want to know more about her. However, the song was very catchy!

[Throwback Thursday] Party Like It's 1999

New Year's Eve is right around the corner, and for some reason I'm really excited this year! I hardly ever go out to celebrate the new year, so maybe I'll do something different this time and go out. Me and my girls were thinking about going out or doing something together to bring in the new year.

Of course partying for New Years Eve comes with certain traditions. There's the usual black, gold and silver dresses. The glimmer and glitz found with glitter, sparkles, and shiny pieces of clothing. The drinks and the people. But most importantly the music. You can't have a good New Year's Eve party if the music isn't right! For #ThrowbackThursday I wanted to post a song that would make you want to party. This one definitely gets me in the mood to celebrate the new year... makes me want to party like it's 1999! (even though I was only ten then lol)

Check out the throwback video of the day below! What will you be doing to bring in the new year?? Let us know in the comments!

[New Video] "You Da One" - Rihanna

Rihanna.. Rihanna... Rihanna... I think all of my posts about her start off this way lol. My bff/girl crush Ri Ri just dropped her new video for her newest single for "You Da One" which is one of my favorite songs on Talk That Talk. The video is sexually charged as Rihanna finds her inner masculinity by grabbing her crotch throughout it lol. You can't help but love her blunt, bold ways!

I loved her different looks in the video especially the blonde bob. Of course Rihanna can do no wrong in the looks/hair department. However, I do wish the video would have been a little more sensual since the song is about loving someone and giving someone your all. It would have been nice to see that softer side of Rihanna that she brought out in "We Found Love".

I do love the black and white concept of the video, and of course whatever Rihanna does is sexy! Check out the video below and let us know what you think of it! Doesn't she make you want to be her friend by the way she's so real and seemingly human? "That Rihanna reign just won't let up" *winks*

My Christmas Playlist

Ahhh the best part of the entire Christmas season (besides being with loved ones and the gift of giving) is the Christmas music!! I am telling ya'll I go crazy over Christmas music lol. Back in high school when I had more time on my hands I would make mix cd's full of all my favorite Christmas songs and play them out in my car! Now I just put on my Christmas stations on Pandora or iHeartRadio and jam to them all day.

I cannot get in the Christmas spirit at all without Christmas music... Not even kidding lol. So with that said I decided to post some of my favorite Christmas songs to help those of you who aren't in the Christmas spirit yet. You can check them out after the break below! Feel free to leave a comment on here or our facebook or twitter giving us some of your favorite holiday tunes as well :)

[Throwback Thursday] Don't Push Me Away

No matter how crazy Chrissy is or how long Jim takes to actually marry her, I absolutely love these two as a couple! I love how he always stands by her even when she's wrong, but he can also put her in check when she gets out of pocket. I love how she rides for him regardless of any bs (including his mama drama), and how she always holds him down in every aspect.

I really wish they would just go ahead and get married, they have nothing to lose if they do! I don't know what it is with me and this ride or die mentality lol, but I love those type of relationships ie. Jim & Chrissy, Tiny & Tip, etc. I already did a #throwbackthursday post for the day, but I wanted to do this song as well because it's been stuck in my head all morning!

This song is one of my favorite songs of Jim Jones' of ALL time. It's just so sweet and makes my little heart melt lol. Someone told me that they think I have a "thing" for passionate thugs and they may just be right lol. Check out the second throwback of the day below after the break!

[Throwback Thursday] U Used To Love Me

Let me just emphasize the fact that I LOVE LOVE LOVE me some Faith Evans. If you thought I was a Beyonce' stan, you have no idea how I feel about Faith lol REALLY! I started out listening to her back when I was a little girl because my mom used to be a really big fan of hers when she first hit the music scene. I remember when her first song "U Used To Love Me" began to get radio play. I was enthralled by her voice! Then when the video to the single dropped, I was even more enthralled because her look was so sultry, yet you could tell she was very down to earth.

Since I've gotten older and acquired my own taste in music, I've bought every single one of her albums. I even went and bought her first album a second time on Amazon.com because I had lost the copy I originally had. I'm just a very big Faith Evans fan, and I even find myself standing up for her through never ending controversy between Biggie & Pac. I've also read her memoir of her life that came out back in 2008... probably like three times lol. Her book made me like her as a person even more than I do as an artist, because I could relate to many struggles that she went through in her life.

I'm always looking out for her to drop new music, and I remember reading that she was supposed to do a reality show awhile back but I haven't heard anything else about it. You can check out the #ThrowbackThursday video below, which features a cameo by her late husband Biggie!

[Gift Your Guy] The Athlete

Sometimes choosing a gift to get a guy can be very difficult, some of them already have everything and others can be so picky. I always have the hardest time finding a gift for my dad! I was browsing the internet and came across these New Balance headphones that would be perfect for men who are into fitness like my father.

These headphones feature a one touch heart monitor, a pedometer, and stop watch all in one. They announce your heart rate, caloric burn, steps taken and distance walked as well. These headphones also have the capability to connect to the computer so the person's training information can be tracked and backed up. This is a pretty neat alternative to regular headphones if the guy you're dealing with likes to work out. These will run you at $99 and can be found at iHomeaudio.com. Are you ready for Christmas this year?

[Positive Monday] Not So Good, But Still So Good

Good morning bosses and boss chics! I hope everyone had a good weekend and is ready to start their Monday in a positive way! Yesterday I went to church and one of the other ministers in our church gave the message instead of our actual preacher. She spoke about how things we go through in life really don't seem good at all and are actually painful to us, but in the end they help us to turn our lives around in a good way.

Sometimes it feels like we are going through the worst of the worst in life, but in reality those hardships help to make us who we are. When you can get through difficult struggles in life and still come out on top, it says a lot about your character and personal strength. It also shows that you really have God by your side.

I tweeted the other day that I love hearing celebrities' personal come up stories, especially the ones who experienced more struggle because they make me want to push harder. Those are the ones that I give the most respect because they never gave themselves any excuses as to why they could not make it. We all have to remember that no success comes without struggle, and no good without bad. If we didn't experience any bad, how would we learn to appreciate the good in life?

When I think about the celebrities who went through the most to get where they are, I mainly think about Mary J Blige and Jay Z. They both had a very disturbing past but just in different lights. Mary J Blige has always been one of my favorite artists because she has never been afraid to share her story, the REAL story. I respect her music so much because it can get you through just about any hard time in life. Below I've posted a video of her performing one of my favorite songs by her... this one gets me through everything and is one of my favorite motivatial songs. Check it out below! Have a #PositiveMonday!!

[Throwback Thursday] Don't Say No...

I'm not sure how many of you are Love & Hip Hop fans, but it is definitely my favorite reality show out right now. The show is full of drama, but I hold it to be a little bit more interesting that the Basketball Wives shows, and they can at least get along for the most part during the tapings.

Of course Olivia, formerly a member of G-Unit, is a part of the show as she gives light to how hard it is for her to get her career up and moving in the direction she wants it to go. I remember Olivia way back when she made "Bizzounce" in the 90's. After that we didn't hear anything else from her until her G-Unit days. But does anyone remember her playing Avant's love interest in his video for "Don't Say No, Say Yes"??

This song is one of my favorite songs by Avant, even though I love any and everything he touches! But it was just something about the sensuality of this video, the way he looked at her... you could tell he wanted her bad!! I think Olivia is a beautiful girl, and she looks gorgeous in this video! I hope her career picks up and takes off because she's a wonderful singer with the right look.

Make sure you check the video out below... Does this bring back any memories for you??
SN: Can we get another album from Avant ASAP? #thatisall

Beyonce' Live At Roseland

Beyonce' gave me life last night as I stayed up until 1:30 AM just to watch her live performance at Roseland Ballroom... yes it was that serious lol. Beyonce' now has another DVD coming out tomorrow titled "Elements of 4" which is supposed to be an intimate DVD detailing her performance at Roseland Ballroom as well as clips and features of some of her most precious moments in life. Beyonce' gives us a nice, heart warming visual of some of her old performances from Destiny's Child days, past memories of her childhood, and personal moments with her husband, family, and friends. This performance was absolutely amazing!

Mind you, during this show she was pregnant which completely blows my mind! When I was pregnant I was so lazy, I can't even fathom the thought of dancing around and singing in heels let alone smiling while doing so. This is exactly why I'm such a fan of hers. Not only does she deliver in her music and performances, but she always gives her all and nothing less than that. She could easily take a break during her pregnancy, but she still gave her fans what they deserve. She performed that show pregnant better than any other female performer out right now could have done without a baby bump. That in itself says everything.

Check out the full performance below, if you have a good hour and some change to watch it. Trust me it's definitely worth the time and it's very inspiring to see her on a more personal level. Now all I need is someone to get me this DVD for Christmas #SoIKnowItsReal lmao!

[New Music] Watch & Learn- Rihanna

Oh Rihanna, my best friend, how I love thy music lol. I won't sit here and tell you that I don't download album leaks when they come out because that would be lying. I am extremely impatient so when my favorite artists' albums happen to leak online, I'm one of the people making sure I get the download. However, if I'm a true fan of the artist, I still go out and buy the actual album. I do that with all my favorite artists, it's just something about having the actual album that makes a difference to me. I actually read through the credits on the album covers to see who produced which songs, and to see how much the actual artist had a hand in their own album.

The latest album that I've gotten my hands on happens to be Talk That Talk by my wanna-be bff Rihanna. Let me just tell you guys firsthand that it is HOT! She's taking it back to her island roots in some of the records, and has a lot of dance tracks on there. She also has a few ballads about being in love, and saying farewell to lost love. There was one song in particular that really caught my attention called "Watch & Learn". I love the reggae vibe of the song and the playfulness of the words! I hope she chooses to bust out some dance moves for the video (if she makes one for this song) and brings even more Rihanna originality like only she can do!

Take a listen to the track below and let me know what you think! Do you feel like Rihanna is the next big thing? She does have that "it" factor...

[Throwback Thursday] I Wish

When I woke up this morning and came in to work, it was rainy and cold and definitely going to be a dreary one all day. To me this is the perfect cuddle weather. Well I wanted to do a sad love song for #ThrowbackThursday to emulate the effects of the weather, and this is the first thing that came to mind lol. I absolutely loved this song when I was younger. You couldn't tell me Carl Thomas wasn't going to be bigger than he was!

When "I Wish" first came out, the piano on the beat and the lyrics to the song just made it stand out so much. I had never really heard a song from the point of view of a male who had found out that his girlfriend was actually married. That's something you hear coming from a female perspective all the time, but rarely ever a male. It was pretty dope how he turned that into such an emotional song over one of the sickest beats ever (in my opinion).

I also was a huge fan of both of his songs "Emotional" with Faith Evans as well as "Summer Rain". Sheesh I would give ANYTHING to have my old 90's music back! Check out the video below!

[Throwback Thursday] RIP Heavy D

I'm sure you all have heard by now that hip hop legend Heavy D passed away on November 8th at the mere age of 44. He's best known for his group Heavy D & The Boyz and the hits "Now That We Found Love", "Nothing But Love", and "Big Daddy". I was sooo young when he was out in the hip hop world, but I remember all of these being my jams! Especially "Big Daddy"! He also had a cameo appearance in Biggie's video for "One More Chance". Not to mention he rapped the verses for the theme songs for both "In Living Color" and "MadTV". Dope right? I also just went to the movies this past weekend to see Tower Heist and to my surprise he actually had a small role in that movie as well.

The BCF wants to send prayers out to his family and the fans that will carry on his memory forever. I'm glad he was featured on the BET Hip Hop Awards back in October and got a chance to show the world that he still had it. Is it just me or are people passing more frequently these days? Just 18 hours before Heavy's death was announced, he has just tweeted RIP Joe Frazier and paid respect to the late boxer. How weird is that? You just never know when it will be your time to go smh.

Check out the two throwback videos for the day dedicated to Heavy D! He will be missed!

[New Video] Party- Beyonce' ft J. Cole

Here's the video from Beyonce's 4 album that I've been looking forward to the most! I absolutely love this song! I truly believe that "Party" will soon be a summer time anthem as well as an athem for all parties. I really loved this video and how laid back/chill it was. Beyonce' did her thing once again! I wish Andre 3000 would've been in the visual since he hasn't made an appearance in God knows how long, but I won't be picky lol. J Cole is my husband in my head, so I'll take a visual of him any day! Lol...

I loved seeing Solange and Kelly in the video as well. Solange's style gives me life, and she looked very cute spinning on the turntable in the video! I also loved Bey's many different looks and outfits. It's nice to see her dress a little more casual and laid back, but keep it chic at the same time. My favorite part of the video is probably her funny facial expressions as she's singing along with the words of the song... I also loved her and Kelly's scene, as it's always nice to see those two together again!

Are you feeling the new video for the hit single "Party"?? Leave a comment with your thoughts and let us know whether you're feeling it or not!

Love In A Hopeless Place

Rihanna, Rihanna, Rihanna... she absolutely BROUGHT IT with her new video for "We Found Love"! I know I'm a few days behind on the post, but I can relate to this video so much that I knew my commentary would be long. This video gave me LIFE! Rihanna is doing her thing and paving her own way in the music industry. I love her F it attitude, her realness, her playful spirit, and her beauty! If you ask me, she's a legend in the making!

Anywho, let me hop of the Rihanna stan wagon real quick and focus on the video lol. It was epic! The visual and the storyline that she gave were undeniably real and raw. The depictions of the drugs throughout the video shows how toxic a relationship can be. That high from lust may feel good, but it's definitely not always good for you. Their relationship started off as something that looks sweet, innocent and fun; but soon turns destructive and becomes a downward spiral. As they become more and more addicted to each other (and depictions of drugs increase), the initial high of the relationship wears off. It's like they're trying to get that inital high back, so they can't let go of each other... kind of like an addict continues to use drugs in hopes of getting back that first high.

Throughtout the video, he becomes more and more aggresive, causing their relationship to become tumultuous. But yet, she can't let go. Boy have I been in this situation before! It's like you get in a relationship where everything is going perfectly, then as you get to know that person more and more you start to see them for what they really are and vice versa. No matter how bad things get, sometimes you just can't let go and you deal with the bad in hopes of one day getting the good back. I'm sure everyone has been in this type of relationship before, and it's SO unhealthy. But when you're in that situation you don't see it as such.
