[Nail Files] NYE Nails

Demi Lovato with gold nail polish

If you're looking for a nail color for New Year's Eve weekend, I've got the perfect color for the occasion! Essie's "Golden Nuggets" lacquer is a great shade to wear while bringing in the new year. This holiday is centered around lots of sparkle and glamour, and what better way to go along with the theme than with gold, sparkly polish?

Essie's nail lacquers run at $8 per bottle, and are a well known brand having been used by different celebrities. Check out the polish color below and let us know what you think!

[Throwback Thursday] Party Like It's 1999

New Year's Eve is right around the corner, and for some reason I'm really excited this year! I hardly ever go out to celebrate the new year, so maybe I'll do something different this time and go out. Me and my girls were thinking about going out or doing something together to bring in the new year.

Of course partying for New Years Eve comes with certain traditions. There's the usual black, gold and silver dresses. The glimmer and glitz found with glitter, sparkles, and shiny pieces of clothing. The drinks and the people. But most importantly the music. You can't have a good New Year's Eve party if the music isn't right! For #ThrowbackThursday I wanted to post a song that would make you want to party. This one definitely gets me in the mood to celebrate the new year... makes me want to party like it's 1999! (even though I was only ten then lol)

Check out the throwback video of the day below! What will you be doing to bring in the new year?? Let us know in the comments!

[Fashion Files] Haute Headz Hair Chains

What's up Bosses and Boss Chics! I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas holiday! I know I did :) Anywho, it's back to work for me as of today and back to reality. I was on twitter today and saw where Draya from Basketball Wives LA tweeted about something called Haute Headz and included the picture of herself shown above. Of course I had to click the link to see what the hype was about and found myself impressed.

Haute Headz are basically chains worn on the head as a fashion accessory that can be worn with anything. These are a great way to spice up your look or just a way to seperate yourself from others when it comes to fashion. I love the chain that Draya has on in the pic! I checked out the website at http://www.hauteheadzhair.com/ to look at the rest of the collection as well. The other pieces they have are a little more formal and have jewels and charms hanging from them. I don't really know where I would wear those, so I would probably just settle for the chain Draya is rocking.

These will run you anywhere from $45-$65, if you're interested you can check out the website for yourself! Would you wear one of these, and if so where to?? I definitely think they can be bossy if worn correctly... key word IF lol! Let us know what you think :)

[New Video] "You Da One" - Rihanna

Rihanna.. Rihanna... Rihanna... I think all of my posts about her start off this way lol. My bff/girl crush Ri Ri just dropped her new video for her newest single for "You Da One" which is one of my favorite songs on Talk That Talk. The video is sexually charged as Rihanna finds her inner masculinity by grabbing her crotch throughout it lol. You can't help but love her blunt, bold ways!

I loved her different looks in the video especially the blonde bob. Of course Rihanna can do no wrong in the looks/hair department. However, I do wish the video would have been a little more sensual since the song is about loving someone and giving someone your all. It would have been nice to see that softer side of Rihanna that she brought out in "We Found Love".

I do love the black and white concept of the video, and of course whatever Rihanna does is sexy! Check out the video below and let us know what you think of it! Doesn't she make you want to be her friend by the way she's so real and seemingly human? "That Rihanna reign just won't let up" *winks*

My Christmas Playlist

Ahhh the best part of the entire Christmas season (besides being with loved ones and the gift of giving) is the Christmas music!! I am telling ya'll I go crazy over Christmas music lol. Back in high school when I had more time on my hands I would make mix cd's full of all my favorite Christmas songs and play them out in my car! Now I just put on my Christmas stations on Pandora or iHeartRadio and jam to them all day.

I cannot get in the Christmas spirit at all without Christmas music... Not even kidding lol. So with that said I decided to post some of my favorite Christmas songs to help those of you who aren't in the Christmas spirit yet. You can check them out after the break below! Feel free to leave a comment on here or our facebook or twitter giving us some of your favorite holiday tunes as well :)

It's Christmas Time Again...

I must say that I have slacked tremendously this month with the BCF but I will get better with the New Year! I planned to put out a lot of blogs this week, but unfortunately Trey caught a stomach bug on Monday then passed it to me yesterday. So I haven't really had much time or energy to do anything.

With Christmas right around the corner, I'm sad to say that I'm still not in the Christmas spirit yet. I'm sure all of that will change after today when I do my last minute Christmas shopping. Every single year I say I'm going to get my shopping out the way early, but I never do. Then I'm the one who will have an attitude while I'm out shopping because there's too many people in my way lol. Go figure!

[Get The Look] Lala in Houndstooth Dress

Lala Anthony was recently spotted at the VH1 Divas' pre-show as the host of the red carpet for the evening. According to Necole Bitchie, she was rocking a Houndstooth dress by 23 year old Laquan Smith along with peep toe pumps. I really liked this dress, however I think Lala is a little too heavy up top for it. It takes away from her full shape. Below, you can check out two similar dresses that I found online at ASOS. These would make for great NYE dresses, bringing a little flare and versatility to the usual NYE look.

Check them out below!

Overtime On You Cuz I'm Going To Work!

*throws shades on like a bawse*
Good morning bosses and boss chics! I give you permission to talk junk to me for my lack of posts, I know I've slacked off for the past two weeks but I promise I still had you guys in my heart :) I just finished up my last semester before receiving my associates degree last week, and I've been taking time for myself to just do nothing for once. I guess it's time for me to get my head back in the game, a break is always good but if you make it too long you'll get lazy! Trust me I know lol.

Since I didn't  do a post yesterday, this kind of ties in to Positive Monday, but from experience I felt like it needed to be said. As I said before, I really took a break and did absolutely nothing during the time that I wasn't blogging. I mean I played random games on my phone, read on my Kindle, watched Christmas movies with Trey, hung out with my friends and a special guy, etc. I really took time out for myself to just get away from everything and it felt great.

[Fashion Files] Rain Rain Go Away

Not too long ago, I did a post on military style rainboots that got a lot of views so I decided to do one for regular rain boots as well so you all can get ideas on the different kinds out there. There is probably nothing that I hate more than going outside in the rain or wet snow. Yes I despise cold weather, but it's ten times worse when it's wet outside! Last year for Christmas, my mom got me some really cute rain boots by Dirty Laundry that I fell in love with! Stepping outside in the rain/snow when you have on rain boots is so much more bearable than when you don't!

The worst thing about getting caught in the rain to me is having to deal with soaked pants legs all day, but when you have a handy pair of rain boots you don't have to deal with that. The rain boots that I have are sort of a military style; they're black with two buckles and straps crossing in the front. I like those because I can wear them with just about anything and they almost look like a regular boot. However, I do want to get a pair that are a little more colorful as well.

You can check below for different pairs of cute rain boots that I found online after the break. I tried to stray away from the basic colors because you can find those just about anywhere. Some are a little more expensive than others as I've listed a few designer pair, but most are pretty affordable. Let us know what you think!

[Throwback Thursday] Don't Push Me Away

No matter how crazy Chrissy is or how long Jim takes to actually marry her, I absolutely love these two as a couple! I love how he always stands by her even when she's wrong, but he can also put her in check when she gets out of pocket. I love how she rides for him regardless of any bs (including his mama drama), and how she always holds him down in every aspect.

I really wish they would just go ahead and get married, they have nothing to lose if they do! I don't know what it is with me and this ride or die mentality lol, but I love those type of relationships ie. Jim & Chrissy, Tiny & Tip, etc. I already did a #throwbackthursday post for the day, but I wanted to do this song as well because it's been stuck in my head all morning!

This song is one of my favorite songs of Jim Jones' of ALL time. It's just so sweet and makes my little heart melt lol. Someone told me that they think I have a "thing" for passionate thugs and they may just be right lol. Check out the second throwback of the day below after the break!

[Throwback Thursday] U Used To Love Me

Let me just emphasize the fact that I LOVE LOVE LOVE me some Faith Evans. If you thought I was a Beyonce' stan, you have no idea how I feel about Faith lol REALLY! I started out listening to her back when I was a little girl because my mom used to be a really big fan of hers when she first hit the music scene. I remember when her first song "U Used To Love Me" began to get radio play. I was enthralled by her voice! Then when the video to the single dropped, I was even more enthralled because her look was so sultry, yet you could tell she was very down to earth.

Since I've gotten older and acquired my own taste in music, I've bought every single one of her albums. I even went and bought her first album a second time on Amazon.com because I had lost the copy I originally had. I'm just a very big Faith Evans fan, and I even find myself standing up for her through never ending controversy between Biggie & Pac. I've also read her memoir of her life that came out back in 2008... probably like three times lol. Her book made me like her as a person even more than I do as an artist, because I could relate to many struggles that she went through in her life.

I'm always looking out for her to drop new music, and I remember reading that she was supposed to do a reality show awhile back but I haven't heard anything else about it. You can check out the #ThrowbackThursday video below, which features a cameo by her late husband Biggie!

Give Him The Boot

I know many of you are probably like myself when it comes to Christmas shopping, and you wait until the very last minute to get everything done. For those of you who are like me in that sense, I'm going to try to help you out as much as I can by posting random gift ideas for men and women up until the Christmas holiday.

These Crestwick Boots by Polo Ralph Lauren are pretty dope for men and only cost $89.00 which isn't bad at all for the brand. Most men's Polo boots run around $150-$175 off bat, so this pair is a good alternative for those looking to save a little money over the holidays. I've noticed that over the years, no one really wears Timberland's anymore with the exception of Jay-Z lol, most men are starting to get into Nike Boots and Polo Boots instead. So this would definitely be a great gift for any guy around you!

[Gift Your Guy] The Athlete

Sometimes choosing a gift to get a guy can be very difficult, some of them already have everything and others can be so picky. I always have the hardest time finding a gift for my dad! I was browsing the internet and came across these New Balance headphones that would be perfect for men who are into fitness like my father.

These headphones feature a one touch heart monitor, a pedometer, and stop watch all in one. They announce your heart rate, caloric burn, steps taken and distance walked as well. These headphones also have the capability to connect to the computer so the person's training information can be tracked and backed up. This is a pretty neat alternative to regular headphones if the guy you're dealing with likes to work out. These will run you at $99 and can be found at iHomeaudio.com. Are you ready for Christmas this year?

[Gift Your Girl] Smashbox Lipgloss Set

In case you're looking for a thoughtful yet cheap gift for a woman/girl in your family, significant other or friend, then  Nordstrom's has a really good gift idea that will only cost you $24.00. They have a Smashbox "Snap You're Fab" lipgloss set on sale that retails at a $96 value. It includes two full size lipglosses and four trial sizes. I've personally owned some of their lipglosses before and I think they're really dope. Their colors are pretty and they go on your lips very smoothly.

You can click here if you would like to purchase these as a Christmas gift for a loved one!!

[Positive Monday] Not So Good, But Still So Good

Good morning bosses and boss chics! I hope everyone had a good weekend and is ready to start their Monday in a positive way! Yesterday I went to church and one of the other ministers in our church gave the message instead of our actual preacher. She spoke about how things we go through in life really don't seem good at all and are actually painful to us, but in the end they help us to turn our lives around in a good way.

Sometimes it feels like we are going through the worst of the worst in life, but in reality those hardships help to make us who we are. When you can get through difficult struggles in life and still come out on top, it says a lot about your character and personal strength. It also shows that you really have God by your side.

I tweeted the other day that I love hearing celebrities' personal come up stories, especially the ones who experienced more struggle because they make me want to push harder. Those are the ones that I give the most respect because they never gave themselves any excuses as to why they could not make it. We all have to remember that no success comes without struggle, and no good without bad. If we didn't experience any bad, how would we learn to appreciate the good in life?

When I think about the celebrities who went through the most to get where they are, I mainly think about Mary J Blige and Jay Z. They both had a very disturbing past but just in different lights. Mary J Blige has always been one of my favorite artists because she has never been afraid to share her story, the REAL story. I respect her music so much because it can get you through just about any hard time in life. Below I've posted a video of her performing one of my favorite songs by her... this one gets me through everything and is one of my favorite motivatial songs. Check it out below! Have a #PositiveMonday!!

I Want... "Banddit Buckle" Boots

I absolutely love these military boots I found here at Nordstroms.com!! Last week when I posted about the military style rainboots, I mentioned that these are my favorite type of flat boots to wear. It's something about the bad girl vibe they give me that I love lol.

I feel like military boots can pretty much be worn with anything and they will still look good on you. They give your look a defined edge that makes you stand out, and not too many people actually wear them. Too often I see people who wear them with dressy clothes like off the shoulder sweaters and what not but I don't think that looks good. Yes you can pretty much wear them with anything, but you can never wear dressy clothes with casual accesories or vice versa. It's like wearing a sweatsuit with church earrings, you just can't do it lol!

These Steve Madden "Banddit Buckle" Boots will run you at a hefty $169.95, but I think I would actually splurge on these. I love the details in the boots and especially the buckles and the way the straps wrap around the boots. Are you feeling these?? What's the most you would pay for a pair of shoes?? Hit us up with comments and let us know!

SN: Sometimes it's good to splurge on a pair of shoes you really love, rather than getting the cheap version because those will wear and tear much quicker than the more expensive ones!

[Fashion Files] Winter Earmuffs

Even though the weather is undecided about which season it wants to be in this year, it's definitely starting to get a little bit more cold outside. *rolls eyes* I'm not built for the winter! When I went to warm my car this morning, there was frost all over it :( Lol anywho, I can't stand for my ears to be cold at any point so I always try to make sure I have something covering my head. However, I dislike wearing winter hats at times because they can mess up your hair with the quickness. If I can find any that are cute, I'd prefer to wear earmuffs to avoid getting my hair bushy in any way.

Below I've posted pics of different pairs of earmuffs that I thought were cute. You can check those out for yourself to see if you find any you like!

[Throwback Thursday] Don't Say No...

I'm not sure how many of you are Love & Hip Hop fans, but it is definitely my favorite reality show out right now. The show is full of drama, but I hold it to be a little bit more interesting that the Basketball Wives shows, and they can at least get along for the most part during the tapings.

Of course Olivia, formerly a member of G-Unit, is a part of the show as she gives light to how hard it is for her to get her career up and moving in the direction she wants it to go. I remember Olivia way back when she made "Bizzounce" in the 90's. After that we didn't hear anything else from her until her G-Unit days. But does anyone remember her playing Avant's love interest in his video for "Don't Say No, Say Yes"??

This song is one of my favorite songs by Avant, even though I love any and everything he touches! But it was just something about the sensuality of this video, the way he looked at her... you could tell he wanted her bad!! I think Olivia is a beautiful girl, and she looks gorgeous in this video! I hope her career picks up and takes off because she's a wonderful singer with the right look.

Make sure you check the video out below... Does this bring back any memories for you??
SN: Can we get another album from Avant ASAP? #thatisall

[Nail Files] Essie's Winter Collection

I'm going to try to start getting more into beauty posts dealing with makeup, hair and nails rather than just fashion to expand it a little more. Of course we all take pride in our sense of fashion, but what is a good outfit if the look isn't complete with dope nails? I'm not one to wear makeup every day, and I do my own hair for the most part, but I take pride in my nails just as much as I do with my clothes.

Call me simple, but for the past few years while everyone has been going nail crazy with designs and whatnot, I have ALWAYS been one to just get a regular color on my nails. I've never been a design girl. Just give me a really hot color and that's all I need! I do however like the shatter polishes as well as regular polish but that's about as crazy as I get.

One of the nail lacquer brands that are pretty hot on the celebrity market, is Essie's. This brand has been worn by the likes of Ciara, Eve, Eva Mendez, Kim Kardashian, etc. I've never used this polish before, but it seems to be pretty smooth and they have really nice colors. Each bottle runs you at $8, which isn't bad at all being that you pay close to that amount for regular brands in the drug store.

Check out the Essie's winter collection below and let us know what you think!

Kyla Pratt Blogs About Her Daughter

Last night I was reading Necole Bitchie's blog and stumbled across a statement that Kyla Pratt had released concerning her one year old daughter, Lyric Kai. I'm not sure if you all knew this, but Kyla had a baby girl last year around this time by her boyfriend, Danny Kirkpatrick, and released this info publicly on 106 & Park a few weeks ago. Since then, she has been receiving lots of negativity from the media as well as the public. She decided to take to her tumblr page to respond to all the hate she has been getting lately.

Leopards & Wedges & Blazers Oh My!

I'm trying to tell ya'll shoes are going to be the death of me seriously!! SMH! I keep using the BCF as an excuse to look up shoes, lol I guess it's good for my readers but bad for my pockets *shrugs*. Anywho, I found these super cute Steve Madden "Mandi" over the knee, wedge boots online at DSW.com for $109.95. I can't say that I would run out and pay that amount for a pair of heels, but I do splurge every now and then when I can. I wanted to use this boot to show you how you can invest in one expensive item, and play that item up with inexpensive pieces and still look like a million bucks.

The items that I chose to go with this boot are all from Forever21. A lot of people say they don't like Forever21 because their clothing looks cheap but I beg to differ. There has never been a time that I go in that store and don't find something I like. It's all about picking out items with the right material and turning them into your own. I do agree that some things have potential to look cheap and tasteless, but when you choose a good material you shouldn't have that problem.

The skirt and blazer that I chose are a perfect match for the boots, and they would make the overall look somewhat casual, but still very sexy. I picked out the sweater in a dark turquoise blue to go under the blazer because the color makes the whole outfit come together. I think any top in this color, burnt orange, mustard yellow, dark purple or black would go really well with this outfit. I tried to stay away from black to make it a little different. You could even wear the sweater with the skirt and boots by itself. You can take a look below at all the pieces I picked out, and let me know what you think!

SN: Forever21 has a really good sale going on at this very moment for pre-Black Friday!

[Positive Monday] What Matters Most...

Zoe Saldana & her sister serving the homeless at a shelter in LA for Thanksgiving
Although I wish I could go back to Wednesday and start my Thanksgiving break over again, we have to be thankful for the fact that we've been allowed to see another week. On that note I have to wish everyone a Positive Monday! Whew I really do not know where to start for this post lol, my break was much needed and EPIC.

I went to my aunt's house in Fairfax, VA to spend Thanksgiving with my mom's family which is always a good time no matter what. I love getting to spend time with my younger cousins because we all live in different areas and don't get to see each other often. It's so exciting getting to stay up with them in the middle of the night exchanging stories about our hometowns and life issues.

When I got back on Friday, I ended up going to a local spot in my small hometown by myself. I had had a really long day and just wanted to get out and clear my head a little so I got dressed up and went out alone. Even though I went by myself, I never actually felt like it was just me. I saw different people that I hadn't seen in awhile, and I can be very sociable in a party scene so I didn't feel awkard at all.

On Saturday my girls came home from Richmond and we all went out that night to the same local spot I had went to the night before. Being that we're from a small town, there's always drama whenever an event goes on. I'm just thankful to be able to say that it's never myself or my friends who are caught up in anything. It's funny because my friends and I are very different as individuals, but we all compliment each other so well.

Friends, family, and loved ones should always come first during the holidays. I'm so grateful to have spent mine with those who matter the most. Now of course during the holidays, there's usually drama that comes with it, but still the good times ended up being greater than the bad for me. I went through something pretty difficult for myself on Thanksgiving Day that made me look at life a little differently, but I'm thankful that I've formed a stronger backbone and have learned to speak up for myself when I don't believe something is right.

I  had said that I was going to do a post on what I'm thankful for on Thanksgiving, but with traveling and all the festivities I didn't get time to do the post. Therefore, I'll list those now to leave this on a positive note... I'm first of all thankful for life and for having a loving God who sees fit for me to continue to live. I'm very thankful for my son and how being his mother has allowed me to grow as a person. I'm thankful for my friends and family who I can depend on to support me and be real with me, yet still respect me as well. I'm thankful for my independent attitude and my nature to do things myself rather than waiting around for someone else to do them for me. I'm thankful for my means of providing for Trey and the fact that he has everything he needs. And to sum this all up, I'm thankful for where I've come from to get where I am, and the future that God has planned for me that's bigger than what I can see with my own eyes :)

I hope everyone has a #PositiveMonday!!

Evelyn Lozada Inspired Butterfly Earrings

Back in June I did a post on Basketball Wives' Earrings and where you could find them, and that post has gotten SO MUCH feedback! However, the earrings that I posted where the actual brand worn by the women on the Miami show and they were a little expensive. From time to time, different people comment on that post giving me feedback on different websites where you can purchase similar earrings for a much better price.

I always go to the websites given to me just to check them out, and I ran across one recently called Showy Chic that had a pair of earrings similar to Evelyn's dangling butterfly pair. Of all the websites I have been to, I had yet to come across one with earrings like these. Welp look no further if you're interested in these because Showy Chic has them for $12.00! You can click here to purchase yours... these would make a great Christmas gift :)

I Want... Military Style Rainboots

I am a huge combat boot lover and I LOVE these rain boots! I like to try to be different in everything for the most part, and thanks to my mom I've developed a love for military style rainboots. I love these much more than regular rainboots. I have a pair from Dirty Laundry that have silver buckles on the side and they actually can be worn as regular boots (although I don't wear them that way because they make my feet feel heavy lol).

The rainboots above are another pair that are by Dirty Laundry and can be found here or at Baker's stores for $65.00. I really like the style of these since they give that military vibe like mine do. Idk it's something about that kick ass bad girl style that I love... kind of like Angelina Jolie/Megan Fox. These are definitely giving me that look. Are you feeling these??

...So I Know It's Real!

Not too long ago on twitter there was a trending topic that said #SoIKnowItsReal that was basically imitating the MMG song "Tattoo my name so I know it's real". This trending topic was built for people to tweet things that they wanted someone to do for them to let them know the love/relationship is real. I ended up going in on this for awhile and made jokes about it because I thought it was pretty funny. Yesterday my best friend Tia and I were joking about it, and we said that basic b*tches would say "Put a hickie on my neck #soIknowitsreal" LOL!

This made me wonder what makes people feel like their relationships are the real deal? At what point do you know for sure that certain person really cares about you? I don't think there's really a defining moment for me, but there are moments that lead up to me seeing that someone really cares. Like if they do little things just to make me smile or go out of their way to call me even when they're busy, then that makes me pretty happy and I feel like that person might genuinely care. As I said, I really pay attention to detail so if a guy goes out of his way to bring me lunch or something like that on more than one occasion then maybe we're on to something.

It's not just the little things that matter though, the big things play a part as well. Shoot introduce to me ya mama #soIknowitsreal lol. These tweets were hilarious but at the same time they spoke the truth about what a real relationship should be like. When someone really cares about you, you definitely know. And I don't mean today they show it and then tomorrow they don't. You'll really know. But this made me ask, what would you expect or want someone to do for you to show you it's real? I surely don't want anyone tattooing my name, but I'll list a few of mine below. Feel free to leave a comment and do the same! Don't be ashamed about it, it's all fun and games over here :)

Check out my list below!

Beyonce' Live At Roseland

Beyonce' gave me life last night as I stayed up until 1:30 AM just to watch her live performance at Roseland Ballroom... yes it was that serious lol. Beyonce' now has another DVD coming out tomorrow titled "Elements of 4" which is supposed to be an intimate DVD detailing her performance at Roseland Ballroom as well as clips and features of some of her most precious moments in life. Beyonce' gives us a nice, heart warming visual of some of her old performances from Destiny's Child days, past memories of her childhood, and personal moments with her husband, family, and friends. This performance was absolutely amazing!

Mind you, during this show she was pregnant which completely blows my mind! When I was pregnant I was so lazy, I can't even fathom the thought of dancing around and singing in heels let alone smiling while doing so. This is exactly why I'm such a fan of hers. Not only does she deliver in her music and performances, but she always gives her all and nothing less than that. She could easily take a break during her pregnancy, but she still gave her fans what they deserve. She performed that show pregnant better than any other female performer out right now could have done without a baby bump. That in itself says everything.

Check out the full performance below, if you have a good hour and some change to watch it. Trust me it's definitely worth the time and it's very inspiring to see her on a more personal level. Now all I need is someone to get me this DVD for Christmas #SoIKnowItsReal lmao!

[Positive Monday] Give Thanks

Kanye rocking his shades at a previous Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade *throws shades on*
Happy Monday Bosses and Boss Chics! I hope everyone had a good weekend and is getting prepared for the upcoming holiday! Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times of the year... of course I love to eat, but I also enjoy the family time that comes with this holiday. Last year my friend Ashley blogged on here about what she was thankful for to get everyone in the holiday spirit. My friend Tia and I commented following up with what we're thankful for as well. If you'd like, you can click here to go back and read that blog.

Miss Piggy Is A Boss

I'm not sure how many of you keep up with new movies that are coming out, but there seems to be a new muppet movie coming out on Thanksgiving titled "The Muppets". Well since promo for the new movie has launched, the beloved Miss Piggy has begun getting ready to launch a few things of her own. It seems as if she is turning into a brand of her own, with the likes of a small line for MAC that just dropped on November 14th. The online only line includes Miss Piggy Pink Eyeshadow, the Penultimate Eyeliner in Rapid Black, and a pair of 36 Lash eyelashes. Both the eye shadow and set of eye lashes run at $15 a piece, and the eyeliner runs at $17.50 per pencil.

Not only is Miss Piggy making bank through MAC, but she's also turned The Muppets into one of the many faces for OPI nail lacquer. They now have their own line of OPI polish which includes 12 different colors. You can take a look at both the MAC Collection and the OPI collection below. What do you think about these products??

SN: I don't care what anyone says, Miss Piggy has ALWAYS been a boss to me... well except when it comes to catching Kermit :P

[Fashion Files] Shellac Nails

I'm not really sure how new these are, but shellac nails are the most recent nail trend that I've been turned on to. These are by far the best I've tried! I don't really like to get acrylic or gel over my real nails because I never keep them on for more than a few weeks/months. Then I end up tearing up my nails in the process of removing the gel. So when my best friend told me about the shellac nails she tried, I had to try them out for myself.

Shellac nails are basically a hard coated fingernail polish that dries by laser. I think they use a clear base coat, two polish coats, and a clear top coat and they put your nails under a laser for a minute or so after each coat. The outcome of the product is a hard, shiny finish to your nails that does not break. These last for about 14 days before you need to re-up and get back to the nail salon. You really can't beat that! If I remember correctly, they run at $18 which is pretty good for the amount of time they last. One of my friends showed me her nails today, and she had a pink and white zebra print with the shellac polish that was really cute. So you can definitely play these up into different designs as well.

Check out pics below of my nails, my best friends nails, and also my other friend's nails with the pink/white zebra print! There's also a picture below that gives you a glimpse of the difference between regular polish and the shellac polish.  Will you be trying these out?

[New Music] Watch & Learn- Rihanna

Oh Rihanna, my best friend, how I love thy music lol. I won't sit here and tell you that I don't download album leaks when they come out because that would be lying. I am extremely impatient so when my favorite artists' albums happen to leak online, I'm one of the people making sure I get the download. However, if I'm a true fan of the artist, I still go out and buy the actual album. I do that with all my favorite artists, it's just something about having the actual album that makes a difference to me. I actually read through the credits on the album covers to see who produced which songs, and to see how much the actual artist had a hand in their own album.

The latest album that I've gotten my hands on happens to be Talk That Talk by my wanna-be bff Rihanna. Let me just tell you guys firsthand that it is HOT! She's taking it back to her island roots in some of the records, and has a lot of dance tracks on there. She also has a few ballads about being in love, and saying farewell to lost love. There was one song in particular that really caught my attention called "Watch & Learn". I love the reggae vibe of the song and the playfulness of the words! I hope she chooses to bust out some dance moves for the video (if she makes one for this song) and brings even more Rihanna originality like only she can do!

Take a listen to the track below and let me know what you think! Do you feel like Rihanna is the next big thing? She does have that "it" factor...

[Throwback Thursday] I Wish

When I woke up this morning and came in to work, it was rainy and cold and definitely going to be a dreary one all day. To me this is the perfect cuddle weather. Well I wanted to do a sad love song for #ThrowbackThursday to emulate the effects of the weather, and this is the first thing that came to mind lol. I absolutely loved this song when I was younger. You couldn't tell me Carl Thomas wasn't going to be bigger than he was!

When "I Wish" first came out, the piano on the beat and the lyrics to the song just made it stand out so much. I had never really heard a song from the point of view of a male who had found out that his girlfriend was actually married. That's something you hear coming from a female perspective all the time, but rarely ever a male. It was pretty dope how he turned that into such an emotional song over one of the sickest beats ever (in my opinion).

I also was a huge fan of both of his songs "Emotional" with Faith Evans as well as "Summer Rain". Sheesh I would give ANYTHING to have my old 90's music back! Check out the video below!

[Fashion Files] The Little Black Dress

Let us all take a moment of silence to appreciate Blake Lively's style! LOL she is one bad chic when it comes to fashion! She looks good in everything she puts on, another Sarah Jessica Parker in the making if you ask me! Anywho it's that time of the year again for all the holidays, and of course with the holidays come holiday parties! I wanted to get started early on cocktail dresses for the holidays, to help my readers come up with ideas if any of you need to find something to wear in the near future.

Of course you can never go wrong with a little black dress. Ever. It's like a golden rule if you don't have anything to wear, find a cute black dress and you'll be sexy and ready to party. Below I've listed some of the black dresses that I have found online, and I hope they are of some assistance to you guys. The key to finding the perfect black dress is to look for one that accentuates your body type. If you have no boobs, you might want to get a dress showing a little cleavage to make it appear as if you do. And if your stomach area isn't really that flat, A-line dresses that are tight at the top but flare out at the bottom are perfect for you. Also if your booty is your biggest asset lol, then you should try finding maybe a cute dress that is loose at the top and kind of tight at the bottom. This will draw attention to where you want it to be!

Take a look below at some of the dresses that I thought were cute, and let us know what you think! Will be partying it up for the holidays??

I'm sure most of you already know about Kaoir Cosmetics if you have twitter, but if not let me fill you in! Keyshia Dior, who first became well known as a video model and can be spotted as the lead of Yo Gotti's latest video "We Can Get It On", has developed her own brand through a line of cosmetics. As of right now the line consists of bright, multi-colored lipsticks and lip glosses and can be found at her website for around $14.99 a piece.

[Boss Books] One Day It'll All Make Sense

If you check my All About Me section on the blog, you will notice that I'm an avid reader. I will read anything, and I'll read the same book more than once if I can't find anything new that interests me. I recently bought myself a kindle so I can keep up with all my books a little better. Since I got that for myself, I've read a good 15 books or more. What can I say, I'm a book worm lol.

The most recent book I've read is a memoir by Common of his own life titled One Day It'll All Make Sense. This book was hard for me to put down from beginning to end. This compelling story of how a young black boy from the streets of Chicago paved his own way to become a successful rapper/actor. His mother provided him a pretty good life in southside Chicago and made sure that he went to a good school. However, he like any other young man got into his share of trouble coming up in the streets. His memoir told of physical altercations that surrounded him in his prime, some of which ended in a trigger being pulled. Luckily he made it out by going off to college at Florida A&M. Sadly not all of his friends made it out of the streets alive.

He started each chapter of his life with a letter of someone important to him. Some of those started with letters to some of his best friends he lost throughout his life. Since he didn't graduate from college, it goes on to show how he worked his way up in the entertainment industry by pure hard work. He didn't get a free pass at all on his journey, yet he never gave up. There were a few times in life that he sacrificed himself and his beliefs for the sake of others and for love, but in the end he found a way to remain true to himself and still do what he loves.

Not only does he touch on the struggles of an every day black male, he also gives it to you 100% real. He speaks on the hurt that comes with abortion, the struggles of raising a child at a young age, and he also gives light to how the music industry works behind the scenes. And for those of you who love to get the scoop on any and everything, he also speaks about his relationships with both Erykah Badu and Serena Williams... I really appreciated this book as it's hard to get a male's perspective on life at times. Common is a very respectable man who I've always been a fan of. I love how the book shows how he become a more "conscious" rapper as he grew in life. This memoir was really enlightening and worth the read. If you're a reader this is definitely one you should add to your list!

[Throwback Thursday] RIP Heavy D

I'm sure you all have heard by now that hip hop legend Heavy D passed away on November 8th at the mere age of 44. He's best known for his group Heavy D & The Boyz and the hits "Now That We Found Love", "Nothing But Love", and "Big Daddy". I was sooo young when he was out in the hip hop world, but I remember all of these being my jams! Especially "Big Daddy"! He also had a cameo appearance in Biggie's video for "One More Chance". Not to mention he rapped the verses for the theme songs for both "In Living Color" and "MadTV". Dope right? I also just went to the movies this past weekend to see Tower Heist and to my surprise he actually had a small role in that movie as well.

The BCF wants to send prayers out to his family and the fans that will carry on his memory forever. I'm glad he was featured on the BET Hip Hop Awards back in October and got a chance to show the world that he still had it. Is it just me or are people passing more frequently these days? Just 18 hours before Heavy's death was announced, he has just tweeted RIP Joe Frazier and paid respect to the late boxer. How weird is that? You just never know when it will be your time to go smh.

Check out the two throwback videos for the day dedicated to Heavy D! He will be missed!

[Fashion Files] Fall/Winter Scarves

Can you believe it's time to start wrapping up in scarves, gloves and hats again? This year is flying by so quickly! Someone close to me says that the passing of time means progression overall in life, so I guess I can't complain about winter coming back around (even though I do despise it lol).

I think the best way to add variety to an outfit during the fall/winter is by wearing different types of scarves. There is only so much you can do with a hat or with gloves, but there are so many patterns and designs when it comes to scarves that they can be worn with anything. Also you know you're going to be wearing a jacket or coat during these seasons, so adding a scarf over top of your jacket (as pictured on Beyonce' above) will make you stand out a little more.

You can check out some of the different scarves that I peeped online and thought were cute. I've personally never been into wearing scarves, mainly because I'm always rushing in the morning for work. But I think I'll try to incorporate a few into my wardrobe this season. I really like the "snood" styles and any with an animal print. Take a look below and let us know what you think!

I Was Just Frontin'

For the most part, I'm one of those type of people who write about my feelings rather than speak on them. I write EVERYTHING down. I even write down important memories so I will never forget them as I grow older. On the contrary, this causes me to have a very hard time expressing my feelings and communicating in relationships. Instead I take those emotions and put them on paper. Also we all have insecurities of some sort whether it be your physical appearance, insecurities in your character or traits, relationships, family life... ANYTHING can make you insecure to some extent.

So here I am writing all these feelings down, and as I went back to read I realized that I am brutally honest with myself. Now I know that I'll never let anyone read what I write to myself. Ever. BUT what I write is so true and so real. I'm totally honest with myself about my faults and my flaws. I'm an open book and I know what I need to work on. I know what I do wrong (for the most part) and I know what my issues with myself are. Of course I don't go around telling everyone else these things, because it's not for everyone to know. However I don't go around making myself out to be something that I'm not either.

[Positive Mondays] Put ME First

*throws shades on* What's up Bosses and Boss Chics! It's Monday again *yawns* but at least we all know we'll be bringing in the week on a positive note right? Right :) The fact that there was light outside on my way to work this morning put me in the best mood! That may sound simple, but you have no idea how hard it is to get out of the bed and get ready for work when it's still dark outside. Then to look outside and see all your neighbors' lights are still out? Pshhht it's for the birds lol, but lo and behold there was light this morning! I couldn't help but to appreciate the time change.

To add to my great morning, I had a great weekend as well. I actually got to RELAX. Let me reiterate that. I never get to sleep in late or just do nothing. My son is a fireball of energy so he always keeps me on my toes, but this weekend I got a little break. I got a little cleaning done, watched numerous movies, and even slept until 3 pm yesterday LOL. I hadn't slept that late probably since high school, but it was much needed and well deserved.

Sleeping in made me realize how much I'm always on the go. Even when I'm at home I'm always doing something like catering to Trey, doing homework, housework, or something! My mind is never really clear for the most part, and I realized that I need to take more time out for myself. Sometimes we can get so wrapped up in life's duties that we don't take time for ourselves and we tend to burn out. I think that was my problem last week when I couldn't really think of anything I wanted to write about. It really doesn't take much to give yourself some "me time". Even if it's just going to a movie, a solo lunch, the nail salon, or sleeping in all day... we ALL should take that time out for ourselves on a regular basis.

I'm the type of person who is never satisfied with my work. I could be doing a million things and I'll still be wondering if there is something else I can pick up as a hobby or job in the mix of it all. This can be a pretty rewarding attitude to have, but at the same time it's also tiring. Whenever I do take breaks or take days where I don't do anything, I start to feel like I'm slacking. But after this weekend, my opinion of that changed. How can you really enjoy what you work for if you don't take the TIME to do so?? Don't over work yourself when you know that you already give your all, it will be hard to appreciate everything in the long run if you tire yourself out in the process!

LaBellaBoss ♥

Lace Up Wedged Booties

Sorry I've been MIA all week on the blog, but let me just tell ya'll I have had some serious writer's block this week! I don't know if my brain is just tired or what but I really drew a blank all week on my thinking processes lol. Anywho the fashion post for today was inspired by my very own Boss Chic of a mother :) Over the weekend, she had on the cutest lace up wedged booties by Lucky Brand and I just had to do a post on similar shoes.

Ironically Jenny Hud (my nickname for her lol) was spotted this week with her son wearing a pair of booties similar to my mom's. Then I found myself browsing online for a pair that I liked myself, and realized that there are so many to choose from! Which then brought to my attention that these are really in this season. I'll never understand how my mom is always two steps ahead of the game when it comes to having style, but I guess I get my love for fashion from her!

Below you can check out a few pair that I peeped online. I think these are perfect for women who love to wear heels regularly but want to be casual from time to time. Or if you flip that, these are perfect for women who love to dress down, but want to be a little more girly/sexy. These add the perfect "oomph" and sexiness to a casual outfit and can be worn with just about anything. I prefer them with a regular t-shirt, jeans or tights, a cute jacket and purse. Can't go wrong with that! Let us know if you're feeling these booties or not!

Family Over Everything, That's My Attitude

Good morning bosses and boss chics! I apologize for not getting to the Positve Monday post yesterday but I had a very hectic weekend which I'm about to fill you in on now. As some know, I was supposed to be leaving this past Friday to go to Norfolk for Norfolk State's homecoming. I had taken off work and was going to hit the road around 10 am. Originally my best friend Tia and I were supposed to go together but she wasn't able to get off work for the days she needed.I had changed my plans to stay at my grandma's in Chesapeake for the weekend and just drive to wherever I'm going from her house, but my plans were immediately altered after my mom called me Thursday night.

[New Video] Party- Beyonce' ft J. Cole

Here's the video from Beyonce's 4 album that I've been looking forward to the most! I absolutely love this song! I truly believe that "Party" will soon be a summer time anthem as well as an athem for all parties. I really loved this video and how laid back/chill it was. Beyonce' did her thing once again! I wish Andre 3000 would've been in the visual since he hasn't made an appearance in God knows how long, but I won't be picky lol. J Cole is my husband in my head, so I'll take a visual of him any day! Lol...

I loved seeing Solange and Kelly in the video as well. Solange's style gives me life, and she looked very cute spinning on the turntable in the video! I also loved Bey's many different looks and outfits. It's nice to see her dress a little more casual and laid back, but keep it chic at the same time. My favorite part of the video is probably her funny facial expressions as she's singing along with the words of the song... I also loved her and Kelly's scene, as it's always nice to see those two together again!

Are you feeling the new video for the hit single "Party"?? Leave a comment with your thoughts and let us know whether you're feeling it or not!

Fall Trend: Neutral Trenches

It's that time of the year again to pull out your coats! Normally we would've did this a few weeks ago, but here lately it hasn't been that cold YET. At least not in Virginia it hasn't. There have been a few days where I had to pull out an actual coat, but not to the point where I can't stand it. Well this weekend I'm going out of town, and I saw that the highs for all three days will be in the low 50's O_o... now I REALLY hate cold weather with a passion so I'm not feeling this at all lol.

I figured there are others out there who hate cold weather just as much as I do, so I figured that I would do a post on cute jackets for the season. Neutral trench coats are very popular this season and can be worn with pretty much anything or any color. That's the best thing about these jackets, everyone loves a coat that can make any outfit look good. Below you can find different neutral colored trenches that I found online as well as a few peacoats and other types of coats. There are a few higher priced ones as well as some that are more budget friendly.

[Positive Mondays] Please Don't Shoot Me Down

Throw your shades on for #PositiveMonday!! I hope everyone had a good day today to start off a good week, sorry I'm a little late on the post for today. I usually do these in the mornings between calls while I'm at work, but lately I haven't had much spare time. Anywho, I know I said I was going to do a video for every Positive Monday post to go along with the theme, however this post was something that I really wanted to put out there and I couldn't think of a song to go with it lol.

I was watching Lala's show earlier tonight where she had a conversation with her cousin Dice about her sexuality. Lala was basically telling Dice that she shouldn't worry about what other people would say about her having a girlfriend, she just needs to forget the rest and make herself happy. This inspired my post today because so many people I know, including myself, hinder ourselves from doing what we really want in life because we're afraid of what people will think.
