Is Chivalry Dead?

Being one who stays up on everything going on in the media (someone else's entertainment is always better than your own lol), I'm always reading other blogs, magazines, watching talk shows or listing to the radio. When the media isn't talking about celebrities, nine times out of ten it's talking about real life situations or relationships. With that being said, when referring to relationships you hear women complaining about the lack of charm from their man more so than praising him for the little things he does. That makes me ask the highly debatable question... Is chivalry dead?

Every lady's dream guy is one that opens doors for her, gives her his coat when she's cold, and protects her when she's in danger right?? Everyone knows that women are basically hopeless romantics who think with their emotions. From day one as little girls we are trained to grow up wanting a Superman husband, kids, and a nice home surrounded by a white picket fence. As for men, they are trained to make money #pointblank. At an early age, they're taught to be strong, never cry, and provide for and protect what is theirs at all times. On that note, women focus more on the little things where men only look at the big picture. If you're happy and they're happy, they probably won't feel the need to go out of their way to do anything extra. They're simple creatures to please if you think about it, it's us women that are the tough ones #letsbehonest.

Sometimes we have to take a step back and put everything into perspective without being biased about the situation. Women can be very dramatic creatures (#sincewebeinghonest lol), and we let our emotions get the best out of us. I think if a man truly respects you and cares about your feelings, he has the ability to be chivalrous even if you don't see that side of him yet. The best thing to do if you're not satisfied is to let him know exactly what you want... "Closed mouths don't get fed on this boulevard" lmao. But seriously, more than likely I bet men don't even realize that it bothers us when they don't do the little things that we love and appreciate. And unless you speak up, they will never know and you will continue to be upset and unheard. Instead of complaining behind closed doors about what's not being done, take things into your own hands and lead these men in the right direction. If they're worth anything, they WILL catch on.

As for the bosses out there, always remember to make your boss chic feel like the queen that you believe she is. How will she know how you feel if you don't show it? It doesn't take anything away from you to open the door for her, compliment her, or pull out her chair. Men have the biggest egos and get so out of their element if anything they do shows a sign of weakness. I always wondered though why they wouldn't want to do the small things? If you think about it, once women see how charming you are for your woman, they'll either be attracted to you or will want their man to do what you do. So either way you're #winning. Don't let your pride get the best of you, it won't put you to bed at night *wink* lol

Asking if chivalry is dead seems like such a basic question, but it all depends on how you look at things. Yes there are many guys out there who automatically have the knight in shining armor persona instilled in them. But also remember that not all men know how to show appreciation and love, so why not teach them? With the right partnership and the right mindstate, I do believe that any woman can help a man become chivalrous IF he's a man worth having. And on that note #imout ;)

  1. I think chivalry is dead!! For the most part anyway...women have become accepting of the lack thereof but men still play a major part in its death. Men are becoming more and more dependent on women and women are becoming more ok with it. Instead of going on dates , men are inviting them to their homes now to just "chill" ! Nevermind opening the door for a woman they r sking women to chauffer them around! Nevermind the little things..most women aren't getting any respect. Men step up..if u want a respectabl boss chic on your arm, treat her as so. But if ur dealing w/ the basics and they allow u to treat them with the "basics" lol in order to crush then so be it! But chivalry is sexy and secure for us..well for me :)
