All Work And No Play...

Happy Monday bosses and boss chics! It's the beginning of the week again, and even though we all hate it I'm here to hopefully make it a little easier. After working and studying for school all summer, I realized that I haven't had a vacation AT ALL in the past three months. Over the weekend I took my son Trey to visit my grandma in Chesapeake where we stayed from Friday to Sunday. It wasn't an all out getaway like the ones I dream about every night lol, but I really did have fun and it was so peaceful!

First of all today is my first day back at work since Wednesday at 12:30 PM. Yesss you already know I didn't know how to act with five days off lol. I deserved every bit of that break though! I really didn't do much but catch up on my rest and spent time with someone very important to me before I left for the beach. Trey and I hit the road on Friday around 3 and never looked back until Sunday. My "little sister" goes to NSU so she also spent the weekend with us. I was glad to be able to help her get past her first weekend away from home as a college girl!

Trey of course made me take him to the beach so he could put his feet in the water lol. He loved the beach and the thought of sand between his toes lol, and he and my grandma enjoyed each other's company. Overall I had a really nice trip. It's always good to get away just for a few days, even if you don't plan to do anything. More than anything, this trip was a way for me to leave all stresses at home and just focus on a peace of mind, which I obtained.

This weekend helped me realize that everyone needs a getaway every now and then to maintain stability in life. I will be honest, I don't get a break often enough and it really takes a toll on me mentally and physically. Like I said before I'm always working, studying, or doing something with Trey to keep him occupied so I don't really get a chance to wind down and focus on me. With that said, I suggest that everyone take a regular vacation away from it all so you won't go crazy with work. It doesn't even have to be a vacation where you actually change locations, but just taking a day off for yourself is good too.

  2. Sometimes days off with no plans are the best! I got to catch up on my sleep finally! But the worst part of time off, is always the first day back lol. Luckily today wasn't too bad! Hope you enjoy your week Elise :)
