Happy Monday bosses and boss chics! I hope everyone had a good weekend and is in a positive mood this beautiful Monday morning :) It was such a struggle for me to get up this morning! My best friend Tia and I went to Richmond to help out our other best friend Ashley with a fashion show she worked in this weekend. She's interning for a magazine called Quail Belle, and they had a fantasy fashion show this weekend at her school VCU. Our other best friend Portia also came out to help as a dresser/stylist for the show.
We left Saturday morning around 9:30 am and got back last night around 10 pm. That 3 hour drive is NO JOKE in two days, but it was well worth it to be able to support such a deserving friend. I even got a dose of what it's like to be a part of the fashion industry behind the scenes; it was so mind boggling how talented people are in the fashion world! There's no way I could ever work under that pressure and at such a fast pace! It was fun seeing how everything goes down to put shows together and make them work.
It was also fun for me to be able to spend time with my girls during the show. The show really made me think about how talented and versatile me and my girls are. We all have one major that we are/were in school for, but we also all have specific talents and pieces of our personalities that make us who we are as well. I feel like we all have a creative side that we could do just about anything with, and it made me realize that the sky really is the limit. Actually you know what, I think WE ourselves are the limit. God has given us so many gifts as people that we can do so many greats things in life, but we have to actually delve into those different sides to get the most out of our talents. It's all about how great you want to be and how much ambition you have.
Don't limit yourself to be anything less than what you're meant to be. And what I mean by that is don't let self doubt, certain circumstances, or certain people get in the way of you being the greatest person that you possibly can. You may be in school for one thing or have your mind set on one thing, but if you think outside of the box you can expand and really do so much more than just that (whatever it may be). You can really turn one idea into a whole operation of different ideas if you really put your mind to it.
