[Positive Mondays] Follow Your Dreams

Happy Monday Bosses and Boss Chics! As we all know today is Martin Luther King Jr Day so we have to first start our positive monday by giving thanks to the man who changed EVERYTHING for us. Without him and his dream, without his hard work and determination, our world wouldn't be the way it is at all right now. Not to say we wouldn't have eventually gotten to this point, but he made everything possible by not giving up. His dream means everything to me, and I hope we as a society live up to the dream and work to make it even better in the future.

Since it is of course #PositiveMonday I thought I would share some exciting info with you guys that I've received for the Boss Chic Files. I was at my cousin's surprise 40th birthday party this past Saturday, and a gentleman approached me and said he had been trying to get in contact with me for months to discuss the blog. He told me that he loved what I was doing with The BCF, and he wants to work with me in the future. He designs his own line of men's suits and even sells to celebrities, so this would be a major come up for me. He also informed me that there was another young woman he would like for me to work with, who runs her own online blog for women into sports.

He gave me his business card and we exchanged numbers so we could do business in the future. Well yesterday I received a facebook message asking if I could do a conference call between him and the woman he wanted me to work with. After about an hour of detailing and coming up with a plan, I think it's safe to say that there will be some big things popping in the near future for the BCF! I'm so excited about the things to come and expanding this blog. Not only are those things in the works, but I'm also in the process of moving the blog to it's own domain as well as getting it copy written.

It feels so good when you have a talent that is noticed by everyone as something worthy of praise. I've been working on this blog for over a year now, and I never really put thought into making this a long term thing. It was something that was suggested by my best friend, and I saw it as a good thing to do in my free time. However, this has become a passion of mine so if I can make this work in any way, I'm down for the ride!

This goes to show that when you add dedication and hard work to a passion of yours, you can definitely make it happen. Things don't come over night so you have to be patient. You have to be willing to take the bad with the good, because TRUST it's not always good. I've had my share of nay sayers and on top of that it's hard wanting your project to blow up over night when you know it won't. So if you have a passion that you want to pursue, I say go for it and just be ready to put in the work!

"Take the first step in faith. You don't have to see the full staircase, just take the first step"
-Martin Luther King, Jr.
